Djokovic is the defending champion.
Last clay match between these two was a five set affair.
Overall H2H is 4-2 in favour of Djokovic.

Screw it I'm paying for the 1 year tennis channel membership to watch this one match not being shown on regular TV for me.

Stef's recent great form and Nole's slight vulnerability n lack of matchplay should make this one interesting.

Rooting for the Greek in 3. When I first came across Tsitsipas, I thought his net game might suit grass, but he actually likes taking time to construct points and clay is his best surface at the moment, though he seems like he could adapt to any surface with the right training.

Tsitipas has no fear of the big 3 unlike most of the next gen. And he has big wins against them. I give the edge to Tsitsipas unless Djokovic rips his shirt off and transforms into Vegan Hulk.

What a spicy matchup. Hoping Djokovic in 3 tight sets. Would like to not see Tsitsipas arrive at RG in full flight.
I'm guessing the fact that Djokovic will also be an easier opponent for Nadal in a potential final probably has something to do with it as well.

Let's by end of tomorrow which match thread ends with more posts Rafa-Sacsha or Novak- Stef,my bet the latter. Horrific scheduling has ensured the former will be a letdown regardless of who ever wins

Djokovic has felt weird to watch this clay season. Obviously he dominated today but nearly going to 3 with Fritz? The Dan Evans debacle? Even against Fokina he seemed to be trying shots just to try them, and his forehand is nowhere near as powerful as it once was on clay. He’s only played 6 matches on clay across 3 tournaments and hasn’t played anyone in the top 20 bar Karatsev. So unlike Nadal who has been through the ringer of young talent and gotten battle tested, refining his game in the process, Novak simply hasn’t.

For all this I give the edge to Tsitsipas, although it wouldn’t surprise me for Djokovic to just pull some insane return games out and win overall. I just don’t think we’ve seen enough to trust his level.

As much as I like Novak to win, I think Tsitsipas is playing and serving very good while Novak has been inconsistent so I can see Tsitsipas winning
Not if you read what he said, Zverev sounded like a man on a mission, the Greek not so much.

Wouldn't be surprised if Novak lost this one, both he and Nadal are going to have a tough time tomorrow.

Novak smells blood in the water. He's seen a faltering Nadal and will pounce as he always does. Djokovic in straights, 6-4, 6-3.

Tsitsipas's raised his game on clay to another level (which I believe is much higher than his 2019 version) but it would still be quite difficult for him to take out Djokovic. Probably three sets and Djokovic seals the victory.

This should be an epic match. Both are coming off of good matches. I think Tsitsipas has been more consistent, however. I am taking Tsitsipas in 3 tough sets.

As oer betting odds this one is super close and surprisingly rafa-zverev still has rafa a decent favourite despite all the success of Zverev over rafa and after last week win maybe rafa on clay is the reason

If djokovic wins I am intrigued to watch Rublev vs djokovic first time that might be an interesting natchup especially on clay

Djokovic loves playing against ball bashers who provide him great pace to work with, rublev would go down making tons of errors due to djokovic's great defence, depth of balls and redirection of shots.

Lol on hardcourt and too some extent grass
Not on clay, right now on clay he is not second or third best, I think Rublev and Tsits both will start favourite against him

Nole lost to Evans and Karatsev in this clay season, so I can imagine he will losing to Tsitsipas in Rome. Nole so far in the clay season doesn't look convincing, unlike its Greek opponent.
