WELCOME TO 2011 ROME MASTERS PREDICTION LEAGUE!
Anyone at any time can play, so join in on the fun starting Sunday, May 8th!

HOW TO PLAY:

For EVERY match, predict the winner and the number of sets it will take for the winning player to win the match. (EX: [1]R Nadal (ESP) vs [5] A Murray (GBR) - Murray in 4) If you predict the correct winner but in the wrong number of sets, you'll get THREE POINTS. If you predict both the correct winner and the correct number of sets, you’ll get FIVE POINTS.

Each predictor is also able to pick the winner and runner up of the tournament before the FIRST MATCH. At the conclusion of the tournament, two points will be given to each predictor who predicts a correct FINALIST and an additional three points if the FINALIST finishes in their predicted position of WINNER or RUNNER UP.

You can edit a pick until a particular match starts, however, please always make a new post quoting the original pick. DO NOT EDIT THE ORIGINAL POST.

PREDICTION LEAGUE DOUBLES HEAD TO HEAD CONTEST:

In addition to the regular tournament, each participant can pair up with another one and participate in a doubles tournament.

The doubles tournament is run similar to the FIFA World Cup. There are round robin rounds where you and your partner compete against doubles teams in your group. The top two or three teams from your group then move on to the knockout rounds. The exact format will depend on the number of doubles teams.

In with Teley.....Both of us have many points to cover....that Is why I knew Aphex with get number one back.

In with whoever needs a partner. Does not really matter.
I think my Madrid's partner saloni has another guy he would like to play with.

Definately in, anyone up for doubles? tenis1, wanna try?

If my current partner saloni has someone else he would like to play than we are on :)

I just don't want to leave him alone.

saloni please say your preference for doubles. Anything is OK. Just let us know. Thanks.

Also does it work if I we change partners between tournaments? Just still not sure how everything works.

Well considering that the 3-peat isn't going to well for the Lakers right now, I suspect it won't for Kiwi either.

:P

Oh, I'm in btw lol.

With Breaker as usual.

Alright man.
Yeah it´s ok to change partners between tournaments.
Open the H2H file and you´ll see that there´s a team race and the ranking which sums up all your points you made with the several artners. :)

I have returned :D I have made this site my homepage so I hopefully won't forget. Everyone should just throw it for me for a little bit of history :p

My usual partner, DG, didn't participate in Madrid, for some reason. He's been on this site less and less....(sigh). If he returns, tradition must ensue!

But then there's dear Boredone who replaced DG as my partner in Madrid and found - no doubt to his/her consternation - that my picks were less than sterling, LOL...

Whatever happens, I'm in!:)

There's a poll added to the thread...

Last poll is probably going to be incorrect and looks like kishnabe will regain the #1 spot. BUT it is again up for grabs here as kishole has a 2nd place to defend and Ralphex doesn't like dirt. :p

Don't see the draw yet, but I did see this tweet from ATP:

Rome draw highlights: #Nadal - #Federer in same half; tasty 1st RDs - @marcosbaghdatis vs. #Tsonga and @FerVerdasco83 vs. @milosraonic

BAHAHA you weren't the only one whose picks in Madrid were way less then stellar, some of mine were flat out TERRIBLE! as well. No worries, this is just a game after all :)
