Have Tennis TV on. They were showing Rune with Patrick M and his team, and one of the team members with glasses looked like he threw an exasperated mini-fit. Just a small moment of b*tchiness. Lol.

Changed my mind. Medvedev in 3. Rune is going to be burnout and a letdown in the final. Serve and volley and dropshots won’t work against Medvedev today

I don't get why the conditions are in Med's favor. I think Rune will like slow and heavy more
med is the one never wanting to hit trough the oponent, and the one whos game is based on reaching every ball, wet clay slows and deadens the ball, conditions favour medvedev a bit more, its not that they are horrible for rune, but still

Seriously, all tournaments, including all clay events should have at least one court with a roof.
I never thought that, until maybe (just maybe) now. My reasoning was that tennis has always been played outdoors, weather has always happened, and people, in an era where there's no patience, need to relearn patience. Weather delays are a fairly normal part of sport. But, I'm starting to agree. Tournaments can almost usually finish anyway - with altered schedules. But, simply for a consistent product that networks and streaming services have paid a lot for - it would be nice to always have a match to show. Also, it can really be bothersome for the fans and players, obviously - think Houston this year. Big Foe won it playing only two days - four matches in two days.

I really don't think this is gonna happen. A tournament like Houston isn't going to pony up the money for an indoor court. Not many 250s would. But, maybe require at least one - really all it takes is one - indoor court at all the Masters which have lots of money. Maybe Indian Wells could be exempt - though they do have those wind issues at times.

I apologize guys my mother took her annual camping/fishing trip this past week. Every time she goes it rains the entire week. Were in oklahoma but why shouldnt it also affect the sport i love to watch and play. Thanks mom.

Fair, I think Rune can still hit through it. Plus his dropshot will be even more effective

the drop shot yeah, but it will be harder reaching the net, and as much patience as he has, i dont think he has more than med, but anyway, we have to wait and see in which conditions is the court exactly

The crews are starting to remove the water from the tarp covering the court, rain is tapering off. Maybe we'll get started soon.

some fuss on the court with brushers, showed video from the street and it doesnt look like its heavy raining

Looks like rain for the rest of the year in Rome so unless they shoot off to an indoor venue I guess they split the prize money and final is abandoned, no winner. I suspect they would find an alternative venue.

Novak explains the other day why slow, heavy conditions favor Rune ("obviously in these kind of conditions, it's very difficult to get the ball past him.... he's very, very fast").

Rain delays are so awful because you never know when the match is going to start, you go do other things and then it starts randomly and you miss games.
I waited and waited for the Medvedev/Tsitsipas match to get going, but at some point I decided to take a nap because I started to figure it wasn't happening. When I woke up, the match was over!
