i'm basing my fed prediction on his performance with stepanek-i didnt watch
the game with zverev---how was fed playing in that one?

The main reason is that the draw at Miami (and IW) is a bigger draw.

You'll have to poke TM to see if he's willing to do this for the GSs since they'll be even bigger ^^

@aphex, shame you didnt see it, it was entertaining tennis, Zverev played a great match (particularly for the first). Fed came out of it with 67% first serve, 36W and 26UE, he was playing solid tennis though whether that holds up under the scrutiny of another top player remains to be seen

I think he is, said he is looking forward to French Open so I suppose he meant it about this. I thought there might of been another reason but you are right.There are like 30 more players in Miami then in MC and Rome. Madrid is even smaller then that this year IIRC.

yeah, I think he might just pip his previous best ranking with this result which should give him a great place to build for the rest of the year. The interesting thing about him is his game, he played more consistant and quality baseline tennis against Simon, but against Fed he really mixed it up and played consistant and quality S&V a lot.

Yeah, i'm definetely going to make a French Open one, i've been extremely busy yet again today, so hadn't watched any of the match, heard Federer was his usual eratic self and Djokovic was near top form.

he was, I still feel he was better than he has been since at least the Roddick match in Miami though. A lot of the credit needs to go to Nole lifting his game after the rain delay, it wasn't all about Fed losing it, in fact I'd say most of the rallies were competitive but Nole played some great defence and when Fed couldn't break it down that was when more errors started creeping in.
