Ronald Agenor (born 1964) has been entered as "Alternate" for the Naples, FL Challenger. Why is he not playing the Seniors' tour instead? Is he playing Challengers by choice, for money (he's made two million in career earnings!), or they will just not take him in the seniors' tour (for smoking ;) )? He doesn't have amazing career results, but any knowledgable pro tennis fan would know his name. (He played Aptos, CA Challenger in July and also tried to qualify for L.A.)

Thank you for mentioning the great Haitian Agenor, a very competitive claycourter from the golden era of men's Open tennis (or, at least it's not another post debating Federer's all-time greatness). Any gearhead should apprieciate that Agenor was an early topspinning convert to ultralight frames, as he played a tennis-ball-yellow flourescent Yamaha frame back in the day that weighed in stock under 11 oz. Anybody care to recall what the model's name was? - hint: Yamaha made the same frame in flourescent fuschia, lime green and tangerine orange.

michael chang hit an underhand serve vs him at the 1989 French(the match he played after the Lendl match)
Fred Stolle was not pleased with the "gamesmanship"
Agenor also hit an underhand serve in that match in "retaliation." The crowd went nuts.

Ah, but his FX 97s Cermaics were slathered in lead Colpo! They had some rather cool plastic weights you can slide on the sides of the frames. I've got a yellow, orange and green one somewhere around here. He later went to various Secret frames, the 04, 06, 10, 10II, even an EX! After they stopped rackets, he played a Snauwaert ATP 85, then finished up with various Head frames and I think even a Yonex Pro RD 70 Long and SRD Tour. He was actually a damn fine hard court player as well. A friend of mine back in the early 90s used to go to the Hamlet, and when he first saw Roger playing, he called him killer, cause he just unloaded on every ball he struck. FOr a short guy, god damn did he hit a HUGE ball, even his serve would top 120 in a time when that was considered lightening.

Ronnie Agenor is still legit. He is currently coaching a guy named Lesley Joseph on the usta pro circuit.
I watched Agenor destroy David Martin and afew other pros half his age last spring in Mobile Alabama (during practice)
The guy hits the prettiest ball I have ever seen and uses stock TF 315's strung with Kirschbaum super smash 16g.
He told me that the 315 was almost a little too heavy for him.
