Roof at Roland-Garros next year...

Perfect news for Djokovic. Terrible news for Nadal.
I don’t know what effect it will have on the conditions, but really, it’s time. If Nadal can’t prove his clay GOAT status under the roof, then I guess someone else deserves the title next year. I’m sure he will though.

Remember the talk about how shot clock will affect Rafa’s game and then he won the first ever tournament with it? Lol.

Good to see RG finally stepping up to fix these long standing issues. They still need lights on all the lesser courts, but it's moving in the right direction.

Now if only Wimby could get it together with the no play on the middle Sunday, no night matches, and the 2 year ranking system

After this development, I'd have to rank them AO>USO>RG>WC in terms of organization.

The renovation of Roland Garros began a long time ago - in October 2015:

Excellent! Now it's time to work on:

- Lights
- Missed calls due to archaic system of judge climbing from chair and looking at a mark from a half-hour ago.
- Can't see the ball on TV due to the poor contrast between ball color and court color.
- Starting too late in season, scrunching up three slams in a three month block.
- Non-existent TV coverage in US due to the rights going to NBC, which only shows it a few hours on the weekends.
- Same guy winning every year.

RG will forever be the fourth wheel of grand slam tennis
Not really. Nowadays all the majors are rated at about the sane with the exception of countrymen who could have a higher preference for their home major. Roland Garros has always kept a prestige thanks to being on clay , They’ve never changed surface which isn’t something either the USO or AO can say. It’s also considered one the toughest major to win thanks to how physically and mentally taxing is , Many of the greats of the game have been unable to crown themselves champion of the tournament

He cannot win Wimbledon on his favorite surface and even wasting 2 points for the championship and he will win RG just because they installed a roof in the French Open.
Please!
Its weird but roger was closer to winning RG than he was at AO or USO

GODDAMN YOU RAFA...

The US Open was the first tournament with the shot clock?

All this talk for what? Chances are Rafa never plays a serious match under the roof. You know the roof only goes on when it rains...

True but if you have not noticed the climate is devolving into chaos. More often then not the roof will be needed. So i think he will get a chance. He has had unreal good uck over his career with scheduling tho. Drives me loco!!!

Thiem is no match for healthy Djokovic at RG under normal conditions. I don't care if nobody agrees with me. :D
Inferiority complexes and chips on shoulders aside, I always hoped Djoker and his fans were a cut above Nadal's cheating and VB nonsense. Please don't start adopting that VB-BS.

Djoker's struggle Vs Thiem on clay is real and not going away in sickness or in health. You can disagree all you like on any or all of the below, but it won't change the fundamental that Noel doesn't read (good quality) OHBH DTL very well and can't cover it. Stan and Thiem can put some serious heat on their OHBH DTL on slow HC and clay where it sits up nicely in their strike zone. Djoker just isn't there in time and has been too stubborn to modify his game for those two players. He will continue to really struggle against them on that shot on those surfaces until he makes some changes to avoid feeding them those balls.

If there will ever be a roof at RG, The Nadal is already planing to burn it down just like Notre Dame.

I want a rematch at RG to settle this once and for all. :happydevil:
I think djokovic has lost his power through the ball. He is now an expert in redirecting and using others pace. But at rg you require to hit through your opponent using pace and spin. I think djoko may have problems with hitting through thiem over bo5
