Round poly 1.15mm recommendation?

#1
I play with 18x20 racquet and I like to put thin, round poly as crosses. I currently use RS Lyon as crosses though it’s 1.20mm (the thinnest available). I’m running out of that string so I’m looking for replacement.

Any recommendations for something similar to Lyon but available in thinner gauges? 1.15 or even thinner would work, I’m not a string breaker partly because I string at low tension.

Thanks

Kirschbaum Pro Line II 1.15 is excellent

Thanks for this. I use Black Knight as mains, I totally didn’t know or expect T1 would have something like the Ghostwire. I wonder if it’s softer than Lyon though, I’m ordering a couple of sets today.

Thanks for all the recommendations! There aren’t that many options for thin, round poly!

For what it’s worth, I also occasionally use Technifiber Pro Red Code Wax. It’s an interesting string with the infused wax supposedly making it very slick and helps with spin. It works well in full bed but using it as a cross with shaped poly doesn’t seem to work very well — the cross string just doesn’t slide around as easily as in full bed.

My pleasure! Well I cannot comment on Lyon since I have not played with it, but I can assure you that ghostwire is very soft, almost like a multi (don't worry strings aren't moving). Moreover, I tried the thickest version, so I guess the 18 or 19 g will be even softer...

yonex poly tour pro or signum pro poly plasma are among my favorites for cross string...soft round smooth low powered with good tension maintenance/playability duration as well as cheap. SPPP goes for ~$5/set i believe...cant get much better value than that

MSV co-focus 1.18. Cheap, holds tension very well and works well as far as spin production is concerned (mains snap back nicely). TW doesn't carry reel for this. But it's available elsewhere.

I have used blue reel as cross strings with shaped polys, multis, Natural Gut. It's not very good for soft multi mains(mains get notched 70%+ in 5-6 hours for me), but is great with poly/gut mains.

Thanks for all the recommendation. I’m trying T1 Ghostwire, then MSV Co-Focus, Mosquito Bite, and maybe Head Hawk Touch and Lux Big Banger Ace. It’s always a good idea to start off with cheaper strings!
