RPM Blast 1.25 vs Hawk Touch 1.30 Stiffness?

Was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference in stiffness between these two strings and the specific thicknesses listed in the title? I normally play with 1.30, but am trying out RPM Blast 1.25 due to it being the only gauge available directly from my new stringer. I prefer strings on the stiffer and more controlled side. I was wondering what the stiffness/feel of Hawk touch 1.30 is compared to my current 1.25 RPM Blast? No issues with comfort, just curious.

Even though the RPM Blast 1.25 is slightly stiffer, your string bed will be stiffer due to the gauge difference at the same tension.

I understand that part as I normally play with 16/1.30. Would the Hawk Touch 1.30 make it kind of a wash because of it being thicker then? Also, as I understand it, Hawk touch has slightly better tension maintenance and ball pocketing than RPM blast? TW is stringing a new racquet with Hawk Touch 1.30 for me and I am just trying to get an idea of what the difference will be ahead of time. Should have started with that probably. My apologies.

Hawk touch is not as stiff as RPM but its not a soft string by any means. You'll need to string the RPM Blast at higher tension to get the similar feel. You'll notice a big difference in playability when RPM blast falls off, when it dies, it falls off hard. Hawk touch falls off more linear compared to RPM.

Ok, cool. Sounds like I will probably really enjoy Hawk Touch then. Appreciate the insight.

I've tried both
RPM is more stiffer for me
Definitely not the preferred option for those with arm issues
Currently I'm playing with hawk touch, it's better but still little stiff for my arm
Next will be Hyper G soft

Cool, that is what I was expecting. RPM doesn't bother my arm, but I went up 4 lbs in tension due to a bigger head size on the new racquet I have coming, I wanted to go up in tension the next time I have my current racquet strung, and also with the expectation that Hawk Touch wouldn't be quite as stiff. Sounds like I guessed about right on the tension increase. Thank you for the insight.

Hi, check out Tennis University and click on strings tab. You can use compare strings and string performance database to get stiffness, power, spin potential. It's a cool tool to check out and good reference but might not always equate to real feel playing.

I have used that in the past, but they don't have the 1.30 Hawk Touch in the database, so that is why I was asking on here. Thank you, though!
