RPM Blast 17g Opinions

So I am still messing with tension and so far 58 #s is the tension Im liking, just would love to hear others opinions on tension for this string. I really wanna find that "magic" number (or range) cause I still feel I have not found it for this string.

i started @ 60lbs, felt great.

but last time i'm tried 62lbs, felt better. little less power (which i needed), more spin (not needed but greatly appreciated), better for serving, more control, and best of all no ill effects on my arm.

anything else you wanna know?

You guys must have arms of steel, because that's one unbelievably stiff set-up.

The thing is, if you string any poly above 55 lbs, you're beating a dead horse. It doesn't play any tighter; you only lose ball pocketing, and therefore control, spin, and power. It also opens you up to a variety of arm problems.

Don't string poly above 55.

I use a leaded up Prestige mp and have tried it at 66, 64, 62, 60, and 58 #s. So should I try maybe 54-56 #s? Anyone tried it at the low 50 mark? College season starts soon so I wont be messing with it much more, just have never tried anything below 56 #s...

I have tried it in a BLX95 18x20 and in a PB10mid. In both I have had the tension down as low as 52lbs. The feel at that level is good, without any loss of performance. But I do find that the string snaps quite easily.

i've never tried it at anything lower than 60lbs (starting tension of course) on my aeropro drive gt. i'm afraid that if i go any lower than this (starting) that it'll be way too powerful for me (PHT was way too powerful @55lbs). but i have lux big banger original @ 52lbs on my aerostorm and it feels good. maybe i'll give 55lbs a shot the next time i string my apdgt.

55-57lbs. 53 might work if you have really low powered racket.

I tried 62 lbs and hated it. This string for some reason plays MUCH better at tensions in 50's. try 55lbs and you will be surprised. how much more power and control you get...

I have a bit of insight on rpm 17 using freqmess to see the string bed tension.
I strung one racket at 55. another at 60. both rpm 17g. both strung one after the other.
I measure the strings right after they are both strung. 55lbs pull measures 35.66 on freqmess. 60lbs pull measures...... 35.66. I was like hmmmm...

So I switch off rackets few days. after 6 days and 7 hours the 55 lbs string job measures 30.38. after 4 days and 3 hours the 60lbs string job measures 30.38. So I have to believe it is better to string it at 55lbs for me. stringing at 60 did not really up the innitial tension. All it did was stretch the string more.

I will be stringing at 55 i think from now on.

the rate of tension loss was much faster with the 60lbs string job. the rackets did not lose tension in an identical manner. there was a couple days where one was higher than the other. but they seem to have caught up after 5 days or so to be even.

I will restring one now. I want to see how a new string job compares to an week old rpm string job.

Strung an 88 up at 61 with RPM 17 last week and thank God it was free.

Another dead out of the box poly for me in the 88.

Same feeling as Adrenaline, dead, no pop, no feel. Just no love at all.

Picked up my other 88 freshly strung with Flouro after 10 minutes of hating the RPM crapola and I was immedtiately transported back to heavenly hitting.

RPM blast in an 88 - Bad news.

Flouro in an 88 = orgasmatronic.

I string this at 48 and stills has good control.
Though I found this is a good arm friendly string.

I use it in my TGK238.2 frames at a variety of tensions. Normal is 56 mains and 60 crosses, but I've usually got a couple others at 58m, 61c as well as 60m, 62c. I always go higher on the crosses to help eliminate movement of the strings. Also just is a better feeling stringbed for me.

I had a ton of Rads before and used X-One at the higher tension range, but then when I decided to go to the Prestige X-One had to much zip for me. I tried a crap load of strings (all at the same time) and found that RPM was really good for my game.
