Interesting. And which model is that? I'm out of the loop.
Unclear since he has been switching a lot between H19 and H22 (Ultra and Burn PJs and then black/white zebras) ever since Next Gen finals. He was a Six One 95 18x20 user for a long time before that.

How do these contracts work? I know it’s blacked out, but is he actually allowed to play with a non-Wilson?

Yes, he can use another brand's racquet if he is not satisfied with his contract brand's sticks. The racquet must be blacked out completely then, but he does not need to use the logo of his current brand on the strings. This is what changed to the past in such cases.

Agreed, I'm a fan of the Six One 95 as well. And yes, it plays very very different from Gravity Pro. Likes and tastes change though, plus Rublev's seeing good results with his black out Gravity Pro so seems he is heading in the right direction.
"He's heading in the right direction"

I see what you did there...

Seems more players are heading for 100 squ in frames apart from Babolats
another trend is thinner shaft throat cross section vs Hoop/Beam on box
framed racquets like Head used on the liquidmetal Instinct, Prince Textreme
and many Japanese racquets (Dunlop Srixon, Yonex, Toalson, Bridgestone etc)

This gives extra Dwell/Whip effect required for the extra racquet head speed most
impatient kids require vs the older gens in the homogenized era of pushing.

Its a welcome Agassi effect finally taking full effect. Its definitely going to rid
the last 0.35% serve and volley for good if more of these racquets are adopted.

I dont understand why the old racquet sponsor would have to keep on sponsoring a player that is not loyal and does obviously not use the racquets of the sponsor anymore.

Of course this would be the best, if the old brand is letting him out of the contract without making any problems.

1. because they probably pay him some money on a regular basis.
would be stupid to let him endorse something else during this period
and because his image might be used to endorse some of Wilson range

2. because they might have paid him as well some "sign-up" bonus, which as well counts to the "total contract life amount"

3. why let a talented player endorse your competitor if you can make him play with a blacked-out frame and they can't use his image?

What suprise me the most was that he made the change right after beating Federer in some good old fashion, especially considering how superstitious tennis players are.
I think he's been testing the racquets for quite a while already, I'm pretty sure he started before the Federer match. I can't seem to find a post to confirm this, but I vaguely remember someone pointing that out in some thread.

What I observed, he "officially" started switching to the black HEAD frame right during the match against Medvedev in Cinci. Since then he seems using it constantly in all his tournament matches so far.

18x20 is only in case of Tour and Pro.
MP is 16x19 if I remember correctly.

There is no gravity 95 16 x 19 but would love something like the v1 prince textreme 95 16 x 19
with the pop and quality finish of the japanese made v1 yonex sv95 16 x 20. If Head does Im buying a dozen of them.

It is easy to tell it does NOT look like the PT57x
Eh, in last blackout pics it kinda looks like a box beam, the bumper guard is right and the yoke/shoulders seems right, too. By the same token I'm definitely not as familiar with the Gravity mold as I am with the PT57 so I trust that I'm wrong haha

Youtek was only a marketing term for new but cheap material. Like all the fancy Head technologies in recent years.
I hope he try the pt113 or h22 before settling on the gravity I mean just take a look at Zverev.
