duncan, you have become the official rugby-man of TTW...
For me Portugal is already a champion team... I mean these guys are amateurs... Ordinary people lawyers, doctors, business guys that play rugby after-hours ... It's pretty amazing that they got to a professional world cup...I watch them practice because their training facility is next to my tennis courts on my club and all I can say is I bet it takes a lot of will to embrace the sport as they have, I see them training every other day from 8 pm to 10 pm...
hope they'll get away with a win at least...maybe against romania
dont be ridiculous, he saved Scotland from the English and helped us keep our, so called independance. They have his sword in a museum reasonably close to my home, its like 6 foot long
well, England just got humped 36 - 0 (whey) by South africa, good result

Italy beat Portugal 31 - 5, it may not seem like a good result (for either team, believe me) but I am very impressed by Portugal, here they are, never played any major rugby comps before and they have a try against 3 teams that play frequent ultimate level rugby

September 22, 2007
John McEnroe risked the wrath of the Parisian fans last night by attending the France vs. Ireland World Cup rugby match at the Stade de France wrapped in a green, Irish scarf.
The American joined Thomas Muster, Sergi Bruguera and the rest of the Trophee Jean Luc Lagardere field in what was, for many of them, a first ever trip to a rugby match.
Surrounded by Frenchmen Henri Leconte, Guy Forget and Cedric Pioline, and flanked by Austrian Muster and Spaniard Bruguera who were both diplomatically supporting France, McEnroe chose to stick with his Irish roots – his parents were both born in Ireland.
Unfortunately for McEnroe, his team could only muster a single drop goal in a 25-3 defeat, but he took defeat philosophically.
“I tell you, France were good,” said McEnroe.
“I don’t know that much about the sport but France looked strong. I’m disappointed in the result, but it’s a nice little perk (of the tournament) to come here, it’s beautiful. I’m thinking about taking up rugby in my next career, but I might have to put on a few pounds first!”
The visit came as a treat from the owner of the Trophee Jean Luc Lagardere – Arnaud Lagardere – and Tournament Director Guy Forget was delighted to be able to welcome the players.
“I think it’s great,” said Forget.
“It’s a great opportunity and that’s what the BlackRock Tour of Champions is all about – the guys coming together after the matches and having fun. John has Irish roots so he was really into the match, but all the players had a great time and we really have to thank Arnaud Lagardere for making it so nice for us.”
The full story of the champions’ trip to the Stade de France can be followed on the next edition of the BlackRock Tennis Champions Podcast, which will be out next week.
There will be exclusive interviews with all of the players, a rare Thomas Muster interview with Sergi Bruguera asking the questions, and a world first – Thomas Muster singing.
i am.... nevertheless, i have to admit that i don't even really know all the rules of rugby !^^^ thats good, but no comment about the rugby last night, you're fench arent you?

but, yes, of course i am rooting for Scotland, but i think that South Africa will win the world cup, even though new Zealand (who will probably beat Scotland today) are heavy favourites, they have been favourites since the tournament started in 1987 and have only won it once.
Sadly that was a "full" strength England team.........well as full and organised as we seem to be able to muster which is shocking given the playing resources w ehave as a country!, so you cant really blame us, and it was also a second team, whereas England were full strength

I was surprised that scotland put out a second 15 as it were, I know they'd of probably been beaten either way but it wasn't that bad (as the score indicated so i thought) and if they'd of had a full Scotland 15 out there might o tested them and gained some proper confidence even in defeat.Which would help in the next obviously easier (whoever it is) match.
Struggling to see anyone beating the all blacks though.
Nope...just don't care about sports that are boring and suck.
but when people pay £185 for tiks, they deserve a first team, you know?
Is that what they are going for outside the ground i assume?
