Rumor of a new RF racquet at French Open 2018

The velvet paint seems to absorb a bit of vibration, at least for me. I'd be over the moon if they lessened the stiffness about couple RA points. I would buy it, even if they painted hideouslike a la the new Radical Pro Nickelodeon edition.

Another thread used this image but thought it be better posted here. So it must be true he is switching colors or paintjobs. No more all black. If I had to take wild guess, the will reverse it to all white or red.

I think what @RJYU is saying is that these are used just for the Clay season. Fed will take them and use them for his practices on his own time. P1 wont be stringing any of those rackets as they will be at the Master events and RG. Once the clay season is over, its a new batch of rackets for Wimbledon

On that same picture the unstrung customs Instagram account (does stringjobs and customizations for pro players as well) commented that the global release date for the new RF will be on the first day of Wimbledon.

Just reaffirming the obvious here, but a Wilson rep meeting us soon will be showing new Pro Staffs and confirmed they will have some amount of white in the paintjob. I'm a big fan of the velvet black so a part of me is a little worried. The other part is excited for the change up.

Knew it. Either red or white in their next design, its iconic to the ProStaff but lets see if its anything good.

Will it have faded white at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions?

Is this the regular Pro Staffs as well or just the RF.

just guessing but even with new colors I think they'll keep the classy sophistication of the black velvet frame since that's part of his image so it should still look nice..

No insider information but my friend who is a teaching pro said he only saw the Pro Staff 97 CV in the Wilson catalog. He did not see the regular Pro Staff. My son thinks the CV model feels dead.
Perhaps Wilson pulling the same trick again. Release a new PS97CV model and then release the standard PS97 with the same PJ early in 2019.

The PS97CV "feel" is a function of where the player has come from. IMO, it feels more muted than a lot of Yonex racquets and a lot more lively than a lot of Babolat racquets.

Comparing a PS97CV with a PS97 and the same string job in both, the CV model does have a different feel. But overall, I think the PS97CV model is more of a players racquet than the PS97. Bit softer, bit flexier, lower power potential, greater control potential, and probably a lot more arm friendly.

is the new RF racket really coming ?
Wilson sold 10 million Jack Kramer Autograph racquets over thirty one years of production.

You can be pretty confident that Wilson will be releasing a new RF Autograph this year, and probably every year for at least the next ten, perhaps even twenty years.

So stop asking silly questions and focus more of your time and effort on improving your volley game.

I volley like John McEnroe so not sure how much improvement I can make there.
