Rumour - Remake Head Prestige Classic (PT10)

Hi there,

Was reading somewhere Instagram of all places that Head might be re-releasing the Prestige Classic (PT10 mould) in much the same way they did (in collab with TW) with the Head Pro Tour 2.0?

Supposedly they are basing this off the success of the Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 re-release so they want to get in on this action - I definitely will get a couple of this is the case!

I thought someone like TennisNerd or other gear heads would have already posted a video about but I have seen nothing.

Can someone confirm this? Anyone... lol

Great news.love my 3 MIA PC 600.
Will it be the same specs ?

I reckon it'll be similar but different too. Much like the Pro Tour 2.0 is. I've got a couple of those and several Pro Tour 630s and they really aren't that similar. Infact the latest incarnation of the Prestige Pro plays closer to the a PT630 than the 2.0 does given how plush it is despite lacking the same heft as the PT630.

Anyone got any images of it?

They look the same as the original (I cannot post images).
The layup is different from the original, but plush and soft. It is a modern TGK layup.
I agree that the Auxetic Prestige Pro is as plush and soft as the PT630 however, they play very different IMO. I'd say that although different layups, the PT630 and PT2.0 play fairly close to each other.

I don't have any of my PT630s strung so it's hard to make a meaningful comparison (nor am I using the 2.0) however, from what I remember, 2.0 was crisper and definitely more modern feeling. I personally didn't get anywhere near the same level of feel and, as mentioned, feel definitely as though the 2022 Prestige Pro plays similar (yet different) to it. Maybe I need to give it another go with a gut/element hybrid and see how it goes.

As you would know better than me it's very hard to replicate that feeling you get from a PT630. Plush, soft feel coupled with the heft and the dwell time on the string bed just feels so good off the racquet when you are hitting well. It's addictive like a drug that feeling. There is absolutely no surprises why so many pros and weekend warriors alike go for this frame still.

Those are NOT pictures of the new frame and NO, they are not made in Austria
I don’t think that person has the new frame. Only few of us have them so far, including TW

Will there be a collar at the top of the grip? Will the CAP grommets be brown or black color?

Have you hit with it and can you divulge some more information on that if so?

Head brings back two classics and yet Wilson won’t reissue the Pro Staff 90.

Not exactly sure why Head would reissue this one, but at least they’re doing it.

I have. Plays great but not identical to the original (as expected)
If you had to compare it to a mixture of the previous Prestiges, would you liken this to the IG and iPrestige iterations? Or do you think the difference is like the PT630 vs the Pro Tour 2.0, where you can feel the old frame vibes mixed in for a modern day game?

You don’t. Has nothing to do with the TGK237.1 layup.

I wonder what “basics” you think you know?
We only know what’s in this forum. We expect the layup won’t be the same. Neither was the PT2.0, yet the basics were the same. The other “basic” specs - 89.5”, 18x20 have been mentioned already. I doubt that the RA will be above 67 and probably won’t be below 63. Either way…

… I’m excited to see it, even though it may be too demanding for me.

Ok, the TK237 and TK292 and TK10 are all same hoop size and beam width, so, nothing new there.
your guess is wrong about the RA.
you got the head size and pattern correct

I assume it will feel like a cheap brittle version like the PT 2.0 did. “Designed in in Austria made as cheap as possible in China”. Coming soon!

How do you expect to be taken seriously with a statement like that?

The PT 2.0 stands out on its own... Its a quality racket... not just because it looks like the PT630. Better than many "premium" 18x20s in the market today.

Everything is made in China now. So that doesnt mean anything.

Because it felt like a cheap remake. And I don’t think it’s a stretch to say this one will as well.

A lot of people embraced the PT2.0.
I think the takeaway from this upcoming remake is that it's good that Head is doing something to cater its older fanbase.
An option of getting something similar is better than having no options at all.

I'm too poor of a player to consider this one and to be honest my favourite mid frame is the Yonex RD Ti-88 and that's something I'd buy if remade - not claiming though I'm good enough to use it.

So let's just be happy something is coming out...
