Rybakina asks for better questions, she gets no questions!!

Elena Rybakina was not requested by media today in the press room.

She complains that she doesn't get centre courts and higher billing and hype though she is a Wimbledon Champ but she has conveniently forgotten that she has to contribute the sound bytes for the media to hype her.

In her previous presser she was snarky with the reporters that their questions were not good enough so they have given her no questions now

wow did not see this coming!! Now her agent has to scramble around I guess

I know lots of people love Elena, but she has always seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Like you said, you have to get the press to want your takes on things, and she isn't a Kyrgios type who can get away with being snarky because people find them incredibly entertaining, so yeah, she shouldn't be surprised that she gets no questions this time around.

They asked her pretty standard questions. It was pretty childish of her to act the way she did tbh. She was Giggling like a 10 year old.

Not a bad thing in a way. It's an opportunity to focus a bit more on the tennis without the unnecessary media hype

Does there really need to be a press conference (on top of the on court interviews) after every single match? Scrap at least one of them

I like Rybakina, however she acted unprofessionally during her press conference after winning her 1st round match.

This caught me by surprise as she's usually quite respectful, I strongly suspect that she was either just fatigued or dealing with something else behind the scenes, this is the first time I've seen her act this way so I'm hoping this was just a one-off thing.

Like it or not, the media are a vital part of the ecosystem that allows athletes like Rybakina to make millions playing a kid's game. Is it overkill and redundant? Yes but she must/should do her part and play along. This is simply the press telling her they have no real interest in her outside of doing their job
