Sára Bejlek: A New Czech Star? Hm, Very Possible.

Hello, everyone,

What Eala, what Anisimova?

Look at
Sára Bejlek
if you want to see precocious decisiveness and controlled aggression.

The Czech tennis school is again at it (y):

15 yo, Czech, athletic, leftie, top 50 in juniors.
Goes in the seniors/women and gets a $60,000 tournament,
beating among others Diane Parry, the former JR #1.
In other women's tournaments, she's beat Osuigve, another former JR #1.

Just watch her dismantling a 30 yo veteran in the final:
Paula Ormaechea vs Sára Bejlek | ITF W60 Olomouc Final 2021.07.25 (full match)

I took an interest in her as recently she was the runnerup in a J2 tourney (neglected by the Canadian juniors) in Oradea, a beautiful town in Romania where I graduated from high school:))

Lumping in Beljlek with Eala makes sense, but Anisimova makes no sense. Did you mean Fruhvirtova?

Impressive performance, though. Winning a 60 at 15 is quite a feat.

There are a lot of promising young czech WTA players...

Only in the top 1000, we have :
- Brenda Fruhvirtova, 14 (girls)
- Nikola Bartunkova, 15
- Sara Bejlek, 15
- Lucie Havlickova, 16
- Linda Fruhvirtova, 16
- Linda Noskova, 16
- Darja Vidmanova, 18
- Denisa Hindova, 19
- Anna Siskova, 20

Was rising very fast, had some injuries and confidence issues, but now is back and very confident. Very tough minded player and a fiery competitor. In the top 40 now after her win in Abu Dhabi

Wrote this in the ABU Dhabi tournament thread, that she won.
Just watching the Alexandrova-Bejlek(final) replay, and my goodness is Bejlek impressive. 5'2 pocket rocket. I also can't help but see the Rafa influence in her game. She's got that high lefty high forehand finish down pat.

What I also like is that not only is she a great defensive retriever, she doesn't hesitate in pulling the trigger when given the chance. And she seems to be able to place that forehand wherever she wants.

looks like a star in the making.
What's interesting is despite the Nadal-Eala connection, this is the player that looks
more similar in style to Rafa.

She will be a breath of fresh air compared to all the one dimensional ball bashers at the top of the women's game.

...think it's great too she's using the actual new Pure Aero Team racquet and not a paint job.

she is a good player but will get stuck in mid territory like Eala, laylah, etc because she doesn't have a big serve to get her free points or a big weapon to consistently compete with top 5 players she is cute though

Hello again. After 5 years, only Noskova has really penetrated. Bejlek has some chance too. Tough sport.

Well, after the match today, we can say that both Victoria Mboko and Mirra Andreeva have arrived in a more decisive way than the long list of Czechs in the above, Mboko more surprisingly :-}
