S&V players behaviour on return game

Hi folks!

I'm currently improving my game and I become more and more a S&V player.
But in return game, when the opponent serves I have problem knowing what to do ... Do I have to attack all balls to go to net or stuck at baseline until I have an occasion ?

Depends on the occasion. If you get a good serve to return then you might consider attacking (especially second). Otherwise, depending on your groundstrokes, bide your time and look for opportunities. The difference in philosophy with SV is how you attack. Instead of looking for a short ball to destroy *which is still encouraged* you look for an angle of ball that you can follow in with 'the chip and charge' or just a shot that will result in a feeble answer.

Depends on you and your opponent. Personally I wouldn't recommend trying to get in on the one shot your opponent controls entirely (the serve), but I suppose that's your choice!

Play it through from the baseline to start off, observe your opponents behavoir and ball delivery Don't be too predictable, otherwise, you'll get lob. Be ready to jump forward when oppurtunity arises.

I have baited my opponent to come to the net after I rerturn his hard flat ball to my back hand then I would lob the ball behind him or hit a strong passing shot.

Another option is to attack the second serve went you can - setting yourself up to come to net.
