Who used the word pusher? Not all counterpunchers are defensive 100% of the time, and not all aggressive players hit aggressively 100% of the time. Duh? Also news, forks are sometimes found in the kitchen. Gauff wins most of her points due to defense, which is consistent with players who are considered counter punchers. I agree there aren’t pushers at the pro level. ChrisJR3264 got C’s in non AP English.

Aggressive baseliners tend to lose to consistent baseliners at the same level especially on slower surfaces. What works to bash lower ranked players off the court doesn’t work as well when she meets a consistent player who is also highly ranked on clay. And windy conditions of course make it worse for the offensive player. She has no adjustments she can make or variety in her gameplan.
The tried and true way to beat consistent baseliners is to come to the net more off aggressive approaches and to make them come to net with many drop shots and short slices. Djokovic gave a master class of that against Zverev in the quarterfinal. Unfortunately for Sabalenka, she has no variety to her game or a Plan B if she can’t outpower and hit an opponent off the court.

Azarenka is the worst noise I’ve ever heard — not limited to a tennis court — with Dopapova coming in second. I’ve never watched Sabs play tennis and don’t intend to so I must rely on other posters evaluation of her grunting.

Truth is, almost nobody at the top of the sport wins most of their points due to defense, atp or wta. Also, counterpunchers are not defensive players for the most part. Maybe more defensive, but if they played mostly defensive tennis, the word punch wouldn't be in their name.

There are no pushers on tour. The closest thing to a pusher on tour would be a moonballer because that's like a pusher with good shots, then a counterpuncher which is like a pusher if it was completely different.

This argument doesn’t help your point. So if there’s no pushers, then the closest thing would be counter punchers. So it’s basically just the pro version of a pusher is what you’re saying.
