Sampras says Nadal could surpass Federer as slams king

Can anyone please explain what's the big deal with Sampras saying that Rafa COULD beat Roger's GS-titles record? Of course he COULD, that's the whole ghist. He COULD. Whether it indeed happens remains to be seen, there's still a very long way to go.
Fed fans, please don't get your knickers in a twist because of Sampras stating something obvious whcih MIGHT happen. Rafa fans, don't be too smugg about it either, as there's still a very long road for him to travel.
Time will tell!

I don't think Nadal will surpass Federer. Federer will win one or two more I believe so he will have around 18 by the end of his career. Nadal would have to win 9 or 10 more in theory, and their are a lot of up and coming players who can still take him. i.e. Federer, djokovic, Del Potro. He plays to hard and probably only has about 4 years left...

Thats just my opinion though.

Thats what this thread is all about.......Opinions......Sampras has one and so does each poster on TT............only time will tell what will Actually happen......If only opinions and wishes could mould reality........

Join the club. I'm on the Dimitrov bandwagon now, and with right too. He's been having the best summer of his short career. Jumped from 359 in the world in January, to his current 136. Youngest in the top 150. If he keeps it up he may just get a WC or manage to qualify for the AO. Then the fun begins.

Some people are touting him as the next big thing but I'm not so sure. By the time Federer was his age he was already a top 40/30 player. He's got a lot of serious work to do if he wants to do well on the ATP tour.
