Gonna be back in Berkeley for a couple days for my sister's commencement. I'll have a day free to hit, 3.5-ish player.

Anyone up for a hit? I didn't get to meet up with LeeD last year, let's make it happen.

Edit: Oh yeah, I'll need to borrow a racquet.

Sundays bad, but can drop by maybe from 11-12 noon. Been only windsurfing this spring, as the old legs can't do both and we have invested in windsurfing. Have 13 rackets and can bring something close to what you use. Gotta check if there's a tourney or league play that day.

Is one of them 400+ grams with a 5 1/2 square grip?

I have one Shroud-like racquet (weight-wise). It is an old Jack Kramer Autograph that is close to 400 grams.
Really hard for me to serve with it. Just can't get enough racquet head speed and if I mis-time a serve it feels like my arm is going to come off.

Ah, the infamous Shroud hammer. I'll try it, but I'm not sure how long I can swing that club!

Hopefully, you'll have time on that day. Worst comes to worst, I can play with Robert, Niso, or Sarah if they're there. Maybe they'll remember me from last year!

None of them play at SP on weekends. They usually go to either Watergate or Sacramento and Russell courts.

When I was recovering from my knee injury I played a 28 inch long frame with a static weight of 405 g and swing weight of 386. It was 16 points headlight. Honestly, I think it helped my game at the time. It was an absolute serving monster. The platform frame was an original microgel radical oversize.

Sorry man San Pablo is useless getting a court on a sunday. Its the most cliquish public place ever and if you arent on the approved list forget it. You need Leed status for that.

SW from length is different than from mass at least for me. Never could get the serve to gel with something like a Big Bubba that had a sim sw as my normal setup. You clearly are a better player...

Hm, maybe I can go to other courts. Doesn't have to be San Pablo Park, would just be easier for me to walk there.

Sacramento and Russell courts are 6 blocks from SPP.
No tourney next weekend, but way too many weekenders hitting singles who hog the courts talking instead of playing. I'll swing by in a Dodge Promaster van around 11, and if a court is clear, l'll hit some balls till noon. I get asked to play on lots of courts, unlike Shroud, so I might get roped into a set of doubles. I try not to, so I can leave early.

This Sunday, yesterday, showed up 10:30, 2 courts being used, 4 empty. I'm low pro in Levi'sb sandles, and jacket.
As I opened the car door, the doubles court [USTA 4.0], yells over they will need one when they finish their tiebreak. I wave from 200 feet away, non committed.
The nearest court, 2 USTA 4.5 womens, stop hitting and one asks if I want to join. I'm a weak 4.0 so a respectfully decline. I have hit with her last year, when she needed to warm up for a 5.0 mixed match.
I hit the wall and one of my weekday doubles gang comes over to hit. I last 30 minutes and barely crawl out of there...
Age 69 has trouble hitting singles with age 52.

Sounds like you have been busy. Well, I'll let you know when I'm in Berkeley and we can hit somewhere. Let me know which park you think will have the best chances of having a free court and we'll go there. Really wish I had more than one day this time.

On a Sunday, best chance for pickup 3.5 is Sacto/Oregon courts at 10, or Rose Garden at noon.
I'll drop by SPP at 10:30, but only want to hit some backhands for 1/2 hour. Can stay till noon if you're there.

Sorry missed you. Still home at noon, very strong wind yesterday so we slept in until 11 and waiting for PM wind. Maybe next time. No tourny was scheduled until next weekend so maybe a USTA League event.
