I'm looking for suggestions on places/clubs to play tennis in the Santa Barbara area. I have recently accepted a job in Goleta and would love to know which places have the best opportunities for leisure hitting, leagues, drills, etc.

I also wouldn't mind meeting some people just to hit! I don't have a start date yet, but I expect to be there by late July/early August.

Lucky you ! I went to school there back in the late 80's and a few years ago I went back to play the Men's 50's Nationals. Anyway, after I got quickly knocked out of the tournament, I went down to SBCC and was able to hit there which was pretty nice. I think they have a weekly doubles group that goes out there or varying levels.

When I was a working stiff, I got to travel to conferences. Always tried to carry 1/2 racquets with me unless it was a party town like New Orleans, Las Vegas, Miami or New York City. Maps help a lot, especially if you can talk to the hotel about where to play. Other guys and gals liked to play golf....

I have driven down to the Santa Barbara tennis club and jumped into a few tennis clinics with Ferenc, very knowledgeable and nice guy. There are several clinics, I found some for 4.0 and up.

bump...I'm here now and have checked out SB Tennis Club (met Ferenc!) and have been in contact with someone at Elings Park Courts. I also joined some Meetup group. Still looking to try and find more!
