Good afternoon. Will be moving to the NW area of Santa Clarita from Glendale. I'm not familiar with the tennis scene in the Santa Clarita area. Hoping to meet anyone up there from Talk Tennis and learn the Tennis scene up there. Any input is greatly appreciated

I work up there and was a member of the The Paseo Club for a little bit. The facilities are nice and the members that I meet were cool. They had inter-club leagues for level 3.5 up to 4.5. and the usual usta teams this was pre-pandemic. so not sure how it is now They offer a week pass to try it out. Not so sure of the public court scene.

My brother lives in Santa Clarita, about 2 miles from Six Flags. But I don't know the tennis scene there.

I heard from a couple friends that there is a pick up doubles scene at McBean but i'm not sure where the courts are. Will do some research.

I was a couple miles away at Glendale Academy at that time. My friends were a bit younger than us.

@MomentumGT went there and another friend Edwin. He said he won the Pacific league in singles and was scouted by UCLA.
I played from 1995-1998 winning Pacific League all those years as a team. Edwin played on the team my senior year. The only player who was being scouted by UCLA was My best friends little brother Robert but he ended up winning Kalamazoo and playing in the U.S. Open. A few of the Guy’s on the team went on to play college tennis after high school in some shape or form as did myself

@jimmy8 I might have just missed you lol

I played varsity in 1994-1995 in Arlington, TX. Mom's job transfer. We almost crossed paths.

We’ll be at court in the afternoon. You’re welcome to join us around 5pm. the match on tv will probably be over by then.

We used to play on the 3 YMCA courts, and there are a set of courts tucked away in the neighborhood across the street from there (Valencia Glenn). The high school had some courts too, but it was usually really windy on those courts.
Santa Clarita is a really nice area, we lived there for 10 years.
We used to be members of the Toluca Lake Tennis Club, back when Dreamworks was right across the street, and we could hit some at lunch. We also played at the Burbank Tennis Center many times.

Where about do you live now?
I heard about the YMCA courts and look to check those out someday.

There is a court walking distance fr our home with lights and a hitting wall. Surface is not he greatest and the net could use some TLC/replacement. I have seen some people on the court in passing. So far it will just be me and the wife until we meet some people in the neighborhood.
