Sascha Popyrin Thinks He Has a Plan for Sinner.

Sascha's plan is to play aggressive. That's pretty much the plan.

I'd say this is a tricky matchup for Sinner. I don't expect him to lose, but I wouldn't be surprised in Sascha takes a set. Sascha did beat Djokovic at the US Open last year and almost beat him at RG (?) just before that. But then he lost to Tiafoe in the next round, so who knows. Plus, Sinner has a blister.

Also, if Michelle Obama shows up to the US Open, the tournament belongs to Tiafoe, easily.

well he just lost to Walmart sinner at cincy aka rublo so his chances aren't looking great off his current level
Yes but Walmart Sinner has out of shape Marat Safin coaching him and all the girls on social media saying he still looks great and that they love "dad bods".

Lol. Sinner will destroy him on every aspect of the game. Tbh, the only player reasonably capable of taking sets from Sinner on HC, is Raz.
Do we think Tommy Paul has any shot? He did manage to breadstick sinner when sinner was playing some of the best tennis i've ever seen in Rome.

I’m shorting Popyrin after seeing him practice last week. His coach Wayne Ferreira was hitting cleaner than him honestly.

He has no calf definition and he was constantly late on FHs, he doesn’t hit with enough spin to cause issues.

I think Novak is just super washed and Finnish and thats why Popyrin upset him, he won’t trouble Sinner whatsoever.

Would love a miracle to happen but unless Popyrin plays match of his life and Sinner off form cannot see it. However, remember what Gregor did in that l16 match at Wimbledon so nothing is impossible.

Popyrin to me does not have near the variety that Dimitrov has. I think Sinner does it in straights and maybe even gives Popyrin a breadstick/bagel along the way. Sinner is so far ahead of everyone else at this point the only way others will catch up is if they allow everyone else to start doping as well.

I love Tommy Paul but the bit I caught of his match the other day, he looks like he's moving funny/not his normal self. I think he's injured or recovering from an injury...IMO if he doesn't have his supreme movement, he can't beat people, including Sinner. And I would rather see Paul win...just being realistic

ah, I haven't paid attention to Paul much since Rome. Chalk up another win for Sinner.

His serve was looking great when I was watching him in R1. But Sinner is also the best returner in the game, so that strength is immediately neutralized. Good luck beating the world #1 in rallies.

Hungover from that Olympics glory I think. But he’s going further than the third round

You're rooting against Sinner. ;)

Why wouldn’t I?

1. Dope ban, dope ban (sung to the tune of NWA’s “Dopeman”)
2. Bailed on the Olympics while Italian Stallion Musetti gave his legs to bring home a medal
3. Diva act behind the scenes doesn't match his “earnest dork” act
4. Applause fingers like Zod but less swagger

I think Popyrins plan is to lose..
Reverse psychology. It just might work!

With Draper out this might be Sinners biggest test before the final.

Sinner is still the favorite in my eyes.

Whatever Popyrin thinks he needs to do, understand you will arguably play the best match of your life to do it.

It’s been 17 years since we last had a USO title defense and the best prospect in the last 10 years can’t do it?

He has his moments were he does well against Sinner, but he doesn't have them anywhere close to enough to make it a truly competitive match.

I mean it's a bit like how Djokovic used to eat most big flat hitters for breakfast. Popyrin is a solid power baseliner but he has not much in his game that can really hurt Sinner.
