1000 (ie Saudi) event draws nigh: - The Board received an update on the process for a 10th ATP Masters 1000 event. - Following agreement of main commercial terms, management is now negotiating a fully binding long-form agreement. -Estimated start date of 2027 or 2028.

The schedule is already so grueling and having that much tennis in takes away from the excitement of a new event.

I’d way rather the schedule encourage players to show up fresh and play their best rather than what we’ve seen lately where everyone is carrying an injury.

yea, it was never a harcdourt, it was indoor carpet until the late 00's. paris was also indoor hardcourt. two really good tournaments imo the best masters as it was a) indoor and b) carpet.

believe it or not tennis used to be played on wood - which was the fastest surface ever - even faster than 80's/90's grass.

masters events would have more meaning if they brought back best of 5 sets in finals


even stuttgart and basel (essentially 500 events) in the 90's played best of 5.

Fatbandian was an interesting player. The speed just made his attacking game better and he enjoyed playing good players. He was a very good mover, trust me, his movement was very good. He took cuts off the return, and his weakness was his serve but if you're on a mega fast court it's not going to be exposed as much.

Safin was the best indoor carpet player i've seen - man used to dominate nalbandian and agassi from the back court

The pro tennis organizational structure is at times so swift to judge and misjudge its hard working players for taking bribes like in case of Federico Coria who was wrongfully accussed and then banned for taking money to lose a set somewhere in Italy while it dishonorably handles IMG and/or Saudi transactions under the pretense that this is business. Those executives satans in air conditioned rooms are playing tennis on cold cash under their feet when their genuine pro tennis players are on real clay, grass and hard courts sweating for ranking points.

Our democratic world that we say we live in is crumbling under our feet, especially under the expenisve shiny shoes of our pro tennis executives now. So, I wouldn't point to the savage Saudi powers that have been buying off our values but to our pro sport's officials' greasy palms. I see they've learnt from their powers in political offices where licences to tinker with system for own benefits are approved.
