Just watched the highlights from his last match on YouTube. Pretty touching and a great tribute to a great player and athlete!

And his match highlights where he beat Jarry in 3 which was pretty special. They hugged it out in the end; pretty cool.

Diego has truly shown the world of pro tennis what a little guy can do in singles and doubles. I bet he's been an inspiration to shorter tennis players around the world.

Way to go Diego Schwartzman

A couple inches more and he could've reached at least a Hewitt talent level. Shame.

Solid career tho.

He retired at age 32 only. If there was on Rafa, he might have won 1 RG title.

And the one time he looked like beating Rafa (2018 FO - leading by a set and break), the rain came and broke his momentum

What you are saying is not making sense. Go year by year and tell which year he would be capable of winning the slam.

I don't see any year possibility.

The NBA have him listed as 5'9. They have Spud listed as 5'6. That same site has Spud at 5'5 and a half, so he at least had a 2 inch disadvantage.
Spud and Nate look quite similar in height.

The legendary Spud was amazing, indeed. But so was Robinson, who made significantly better dunks (obviously with the advantage of being about 2 inches taller). While 2 inches give an advantage, by no means do they account for the extraordinary difference in the dunk quality between Spud and Nate.

In my view, Spud was the initial "dwarf" GOAT dunker, but Nate took it from him there. Nate dunking over Spud was a passing of the torch moment (Nate also dunked over Dwight for that matter). If we add to the debate the fact that Nate could dunk between the legs while Spud couldn't, I think there's no contest (not to mention how Nate won 3 dunk contests, more than anyone).
