The community type section, to see where you rank compared to other players. It looks like the iOS is a little different, maybe that is why it is not working too well on mine.![]()
Must be something they are still working on. For the Pop, I actually like that section, but not a make-or-break-thing.On the current iOS app, it is called "Ranking" rather than "Compare."
My screen shows "0" for score in that section.
Will you ever be able to use qlipp without bringing along an android tablet? Cant it store the data in its memory like zepp ?
2. Weight
The sensor weighs 8 grams, which is 4 times as heavy as a Gamma Shockbuster, my trusty vibration dampener. The weight may not be a problem for those who are not very sensitive about the weight and balance of their racquets.
I, on the other hand, use an extended 28-inch racquet, which makes even the slightest increase in weight in the head noticeably elevate the swing weight. The first time I used Qlipp, I put it on without taking my own dampener off the string bed, and it affected my strokes significantly. The second time, I took my Shockbuster off to save the 2 miserly grams, and believe it or not, it helped somewhat, although I still had to get used to the new swing weight.
So managing the added weight can take some getting used to.
8gwill "just takes the swingweight through the roof" Wow, you are really dialed into your weights. That's the biggest problem with this gadget - it just completely screws up the weighting on the racket and the way it swings. Fine if you have a light racket that's at the pre-customization stage and you're planning to add weight all over it, but if you already have a pair of rackets that you've settled on, adding one of these, just takes the swingweight through the roof, changes the balance etc. It just won't be the same racket afterwards.

I think that the majority of people this will not be a major issue.
Anyone know what the two latest updates were to the app? There was one a couple of days ago and then another one this morning.
yay, video function finally on Android. Too bad I'll be out of town for the next 2 weeks...
I still cannot get a single serve to record at all. I contacted Qlipp and they shared their plans for an update that looks amazing. I don't want to post the pics they sent me because I don't know if they want them on here or not, but you basically tell the app you are about to ONLY HIT SERVES, then it records angle on incidence, pronation, and learns from how "you" serve to improve when not in the "service session". Qlipp told me it would be a little while before it is out to everyone but scheduled me as a beta tester.iOS firmware v1.5 Play Test
I took the Qlipp with the updated firmware out on the court and had a brief serve practice session. After warmup, I recorded hitting about 30 kick serves.
Positives:
1. No more annoying LED flashes.
2. More correct recognition of strokes: With the previous firmware, only about 1 out of 10 serves were recognized as serves, the rest falsely registering as forehands.
Needing further improvement:
1. Only about 33% were registered as serves. The rest were read as forehands and backhands, about equally divided.
2. Although I see all 30 serves in my video, only about 10 was logged and analyzed. This is actually a step back from the previous firmware. Don't know if the Gamma Shockbuster I put on the stringbed affected the outcome but this was wholly unexpected.
3. The speed measurement seems about right.
BTW, looking at the Kick-starter page for Shot-stats now and I am sure glad I did not put my money there as that project looks dead!I still cannot get a single serve to record at all. While I know the Qlipp is not perfect, they are working and improving and I do appreciate that. I would rather have a product in hand that is getting better than having to wait a year or more for the Shot-stat, which still is not out yet.

My 3 frames were 14 mains, and that darn thing was impossible to get on......just got a 16x16 frame and getting the Qlipp on is MUCH easier. That couple of extra millimeters made a huge difference. On the 14 mains it was difficult to get the second main within the nobs while keeping the first within the nobs. I can see how easy it is to get used to putting on and off now with a 16 main frame!
Android app is absolutely great, no issues, but I don't use it for videos. I have no problem getting it to pair and start sessions, and the feedback is instant......if you want it right there. I was using it in the house last night with my 67 year old dad holding the app. He did not believe it could sense the difference between a backhand and forehand unless the sensor was facing the same way each time. Since it has been raining here for 3 days straight, I connected it to the app, then hit the string bed against the corner of a cost ottoman, and every single hit was correct with either a forehand or backhand......with the only exception that it sometimes recorded a volley. Is the android app mature or getting better for this? I don't feel like lugging my wife's ipad to court each time I use it.
Blue light thing has happened to me. It just goes off after minute or so. I think it tries to reconnect for some reason.Just had another session with the Qlipp. I started in Play mode and wanted to try the video mode to end the session. Unfortunately, it didn't happen because I forgot to sync Qlipp with the phone, so I ended up only with a video. I think the app should prompt the user that Qlipp is not connected, just as they do in Play mode. So I tried out the video function by hitting my racquet against my heel. It works and you can go straight to view any particular shot that you're interested in, which is great. I'm not sure if I saw some shots that are out-of-sync with the video but they're rare.
Btw, has anyone experienced the blue solid light being intermittently on during use despite turning off the blinking light option in the app? FAQ says that means the app is trying to connect to Qlipp but my phone was at the corner just behind me. Just curious if there are shots unrecorded when the light is on. That said, my overall experience has been positive. It definitely gives me an indication on the areas that I need to improve on.
I have had Qlipp with me since early Feb. But I only started using it after latest firmware update where flashing light during play could be switched off.
So far I have not had problems with my serves no registering. Very few 2-5 per session (based on 80+ mph forehand in logs) registered as forehand. All others registered as serves. Here is last session info.

Gents, for any of you that have used Qlipp successfully, i need your advice. Bought the sensor a couple of dyas ago but have been having the following two issues:
1. It certainly has connectivity problems. From day one it connects and disconnects continuously. Have tried to re install the app (iPhone), restart the phone, to no vain.
2. It always disconnects when you hit hard. Tried the serve mode and when i hit a first serve, it always disconnects and re-connects without registering anything. Similar performance in PLAY mode. Hit hard and it disconnects.
Has anyone had this experience? Already sent yesterday an email to Qlipp but no reply as of now.
