Sebastian Korda Racket and String??

I'm jealous now, for real! Lucky you..

Stiffness of the stringbed in the first gut/poly setup comes from the crosses, as gut easily displaces over the crosses, and if you had poly, say Alu 1.25, at 50, vs Alu 1.20 at 47 in the second stringbed - it's clear that the second stringbed will have felt softer

It's common to string gut/poly, gut/4G for example, with a big tension differential between them because of that

With 18x20 control racquets stringbed very easily feels too stiff and boardy, always lower tension first

What's 340 and 336, which is static and which is swingweight please?

340 static and 336 SW.

I hear what you are saying on the stringbed. I just still expected poly/poly at the lower tension to be stiffer. That wasn’t the case in practice.

That's very close to what I now have on the v8 18x20, but without leather. Might try it though, I'm a bit afraid to lose the perfect roundedness of the whole end cap/flare, synthetic base grip is perfectly wound as well

The frame is really versatile, that’s the best description. It’s good at everything, but won’t help you on serves so hope you know how to use your legs and hips. Otherwise, it’s good/great at everything.

A few things are weird. Example, gut poly 53/50 both 1.25 on mains and crosses felt stiffer than 1.25 Alu Crossed with 1.20 Alu 50/47.

Alu/Alu setup was butter! I get why Korda likes it. It doesn’t last long obviously.

Frame feels good/stable with the right stings. My Final spec with leather, og and lead at 3/9 was 340, 32, 336. You don’t feel the weight at all. It’s smooth, fast and solid at contact.

It’s a unique frame. 18/20 feels stiffer like the Tstsipas K Blade. Has the same mold but layup could be different, a touch softer is what I’m feeling in the 18/19.

If it’s a good price, give it a shot. You might love it, or not lol. A D1 guy I was rallying with tried it when it had Alu/Alu, he was instantly in love. Said he felt like he could not miss. Take that with a grain of salt as I, and most likely you, are not D1 level.

just curious, do you have a way of determining between a kblade, nblade, and blx blade mold?

Unfortunately no, but it seems like a modified k blade layup or k blade layup that feels softer because of one less cross. Parts of k blade grommets fit, 18m….

Again, that softer feel could also be due to one less cross. I’m comparing side by side with a k blade 98 pro stock 18x20 v8 pj, same strings and tension, the extra cross makes dead center a little denser denser. About the same spacing on crosses at top and bottom otherwise.

just found this thread, my friend let me play with his 18*19 korda frame a few days ago, it had some soft string in there not great feeling. he is looking for recommendations..

i was going to suggest after reading this 1.25 alu rough and 1.30 alu power , hoping at 1.30 it will last longer as known to be more durable.... ?

any otehr string recommendations, i think it is string sensitive

Frame is string sensitive from my testing. I did find it liked thinner strings better. The frame liked Toroline Absolute 1.20, but it barely made it 3 hours. I could see 1.20 Solinco Tour Bite potentially working as well.

Unfortunately, you will need to test a few setups and tension variations to see what it likes best and what fits you.

Btw, it did like 1.25 Alu Mains and 1.20 Alu Crosses 50/47. That said, the setup is good for 2 hours if you are lucky.

Wow I have been intrigued about what’s best for this racquet too , been reading threads online

Would 1.30 Alu rough and 1.25 Alu rough last longer and be better ?

2 hours is not good ..

From what I’m reading …

The two to try may be

Alu rough mains 1.25 54lbs
Alu rough 1.30 crosses 52.5 or 52 lbs

And a second option

Head Lynx tour 1.25 mains champagne colour 53lbs

Lynx tour 1.20 crosses 51.5 lbs or 51lbs

3rd edition

Lynx tour 1.25 main and restring zero cross 1.23 mm

50/48
