SEC Tennis

usc good win on friday and now bad one vs MSU without Stropp
crazy sec
uga? doubles?
ole miss trying hard vs UF..but seems to lose right now

Tennessee rolling over Arkansas - thought Arky would have made it a bit closer seeing as how TN has struggled lately.

everyone told us ole miss will rally this season...with jorge...but he is lost now...
the 3 swedes all have problems
do not know why this season went so bad..
ole miss was picked to be Top6 in sec..and fight for a Top16 spot when ncaas come..but then....

Only 1 week left in the regular season before the conference tournament gets started. Below is who each team has left.

Texas A&M 9-1 (@ Ole Miss, @ Miss St)
Georgia 9-1 (@ Bama, @ Auburn)
Kentucky 8-2 (South Carolina, Florida)
Florida 7-3 (@ Vandy, @ Kentucky)
Mississippi State 7-4 (Texas A&M)
Tennessee 4-6 (@ Auburn, @ Bama)
Vanderbilt 4-6 (Florida, South Carolina)
South Carolina 4-6 (@ Kentucky, @ Vandy)
Auburn 4-6 (Tennessee, Georgia)
Alabama 4-6 (Georgia, Tennessee)
Ole Miss 3-8 (Texas A&M)
LSU 2-9 (@ Arkansas)
Arkansas 2-9 (LSU)

could be Aggies on #1 but 2 tough road games left

1st round would be:
Vols vs Arkansas
Vandy vs LSU (but that can change if LSU can beat Arkansas and Ole Miss loses)
SC vs Ole Miss ( a matchup i will love as Rebels-fan, Ole Miss has a change for the revenge!)
Auburn vs Bama

Ole Miss must avoid to be drop a position here...cause 2nd round would be vs UGA/Aggies..not a chance

The format for the SEC Tournament is as follows:

Wednesday, April 16
Match 1: #12 vs. #13

Thursday, April 17
Match 2: #8 vs. #9
Match 3: #5 vs. #12/#13
Match 4: #7 vs. #10
Match 5: #6 vs. #11

The top 4 seeds get byes until Friday.

So if Arkansas beats LSU this weekend they would play again on Wednesday in the 12 vs 13 match. If LSU beats Arkansas and Ole Miss loses to Texas A&M then LSU would get the #11 seed and Ole Miss would play Arkansas in the 12 vs 13 match

ah i was wrong in this one..you are right...wow..seems like Ole Miss has to play for the right to be in the top12...would be shocking to go out in the 1st game...vs Arkansas...:shock:

SEC, right now only 7 teams straight in ncaas...2 or 3 others must really pray

1) UGA swept Arkansas and Lsu, Alabama and Auburn ahead

2) Texas A&M, great team , on course to win the sec title this year, only road game at Lowly Ole Miss stands in the way and a game at Miss State

3) UK great win yesterday vs OSU, concludes regular season at home this weekend, uk has their ups and downs, on good days can play with anyone

4) Florida took out both Miss. , at Vandy and at UK is huge this weekend, but should end 4th place anyways, good season for them, especially after their disaster with Piro

5) MSU lost at Florida but beat SC , good win , Miss State has a better as expected season, losing Stropp and White will hurt after the season

6) Vols, at least took care of 'LSU & Arkansas , vols have a bad season, especially Liebitis, @ Auburn/Alabama will be interesting this weekend

7) Vanderbilt frightened UK a little bit

8.) USC, took care of Ole Miss, lost a tough one vs Miss State, they are right in the middle, will be amazing shock if they not make ncaas

9) Alabama ,not a chance vs Aggies, vs uga and vols this weekend, they are 11-14 over the season, so they scheduled 2 easier opponentes in doubleheaders now..they are top35 and still could miss it...

10) Auburn, 5 game losing streak...season is fading...vs UGA and Vols is still tough

11) Ole Miss, dropped matches vs SC and Florida...SC was their last hope i think

12) LSU, they are unranked? questions? unlucky for them that sec is so weak this year overall...

13) Arkansas , still cannot get it how they beat Florida before 2 weeks...

Friday SEC Schedule:

Florida at Vanderbilt - Vandy should win at #1 dubs and #1 & #2 singles. Florida probably takes #3 dubs so #2 dubs will decide it. I'll say Vandy takes the point and wins 4-2.

Georgia at Alabama - Bama usually plays Georgia very tight when the match is in T-Town so I'm expecting a close one. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bama take the doubles point and possibly 1 & 2 singles but I think Georgia takes the 3-6 spots and wins it 4-3.

Tennessee at Auburn - as much as Tennessee has struggled this year Auburn has mailed it now and has lost 5 straight. Vols should win this 4-0 or 1.

South Carolina at Kentucky - it'll be interesting to see if Kentucky has any letdown after the Ohio State win. Even if they do they should still win fairly easily. Alejandro Gomez has had some nice results lately beating Herkko Pollanen, Becker O'Shaughnessey, Mikelis Libietis, William Kallberg, and was up 3-0 on Ryan Lipman in the 3rd. Odd thing is in between those nice wins he's thrown in a 3 & 1 loss Austin Smith, a 2 & 1 loss to Dan Cochrane, and a 1 & 3 loss to Tim Kopinski. Wonder what'll do with the beast that is Tsvetan Mihov. Kentucky wins 4-1

Texas A&M at Ole Miss - Chadwick's last SEC home match. IF Ole Miss can find a way to take the doubles point and that's a big IF I think an upset wouldn't be too farfetched. Kallberg has had a rough year but he played Vinsant close last year so maybe he's saved his best performance for today and Scholtz should beat Harry Adams. Not sure where that 4th point would come from but maybe Jorge comes up big. Ole Miss 4-3 in a shocker.

everyone is going vs UF. so i will do the other side, UF wins 4-2

UGA is much deeper as Alabama, maybe Bama can take the Doubles, maybe 1 singles, but not more, 4-2 UGA.

wow auburn had a nice lineup last time at Aggies...a shame..thats right..do not know whos playing today for them? Ollert , Cochrane, LEngsfeld can match up vs Reese, Liebitis and Fickey, maybe can take 1 or 2 singles there, doubles is crucial...but do not think Auburn also can take at least 2 singles from 4 to 6, Vols will win. Could be close, but maybe also a 4-0 sweep.

UK should beat SC, Uk is a real good team, had some ups and downs, but SC is not that good from 1 to 6.

Ole Miss will not trouble A&M, A&M should win 4-1, Rebels are a no match in doubles, will find 1 single win from somewhere, Scholtz is allways favored, but often not plays fast enough to win when match is stopped, players like kallberg, lindmark, backstrom could trouble A&M, but thats allways a big IF on them. If Rebels loses doubles...match could be over very soon. I not give a lot on Chadwicks last SEC home match and last Ole Miss home match. It will be very emotional, for sure, but Rebels just not have their season this season,

Yeah it's a little funky layout there with courts 1 and 2 together, 5 and 6 together and 3 and 4 together. There are 3 sets of 2 courts and she is sitting between courts 2 and 5 with court 4 a ways away.

yeah but I mean she can't move for the clinching match? I would personally be dying if I couldn't see what was happening.

I'm a little annoyed by the result. Ole Miss will probably make the tournament now at 4-8 in the SEC but this loss won't hurt A&M in the slightest.

Ryan Lipman was up 5-2 in the 3rd and is now serving to force a 3rd set TB. Florida holding on to 3-2 lead with Vandy up a set in the other remaining match.

Arkansas and LSU playing today in a match with only pride at stake because they are going to play again on Wednesday in the #12 vs. #13 match at the SEC Tournament.

Arias at #1 today. He struggled to make the lineup for most of last year. Don't know if that says more about him or about LSU's season...
