Florida up a break on every court except 1
Things starting to get interesting. Gators up 3-0 but Vandy about to win at 1 & 2. Johnson down a set but up a double break at 4 and they are just starting a 3rd set on 6
Johnson holds for 4-0 after falling behind 0-40. Alford just got broke so Smith will now serve at 1-2
Smith has fought off 3 break points so far still serving 1-2
Alford holds at 40-15 for a 3-2 lead. Hidalgo breaks to get on the board now serving 1-5
Smith serving 2-3 0-30
Now 30-30 as Smith wins a 15-20 shot rally
Smith holds as Alford misses long on a forehand and then can't return the serve.
Alford holds at love for 4-3. Johnson has fought off 2 break points and is serving ad in at 0-0 in the 3rd
Smith serving 3-4 30-15
Smith holds at 40-15 for 4-4
Alford up 40-0
Love hold for 5-4. Johnson serving 1-1 40-15 on 4
Smith long on a forehand 0-15
Alford forces a Smith miss 0-30
Smith with a put away at the net 15-30
Alford nets a forehand 30-30
Smith with a big serve for 40-30
Alford long on a forehand 5-5
Smith hitting hard from the baseline while Alford is floating most shots. 15-15 on Alford serve.
Smith puts a forehand into the net 30-15 Alford. Break pt for Johnson
Alford slams an overhead for 40-15. Johnson gets a softball 2nd serve and dumps it into the net.
Alford holds on an overhead put away. Johnson with break pt again
Smith slips coming to the net 0-15 5-6
Alford applies some pressure and forces the smith miss 0-30
Alford long on service return 15-30 and then Alford hits a forehand winner 15-40 mp.
Smith misses a forehand Gators win
Not able to stay around for the finals today but I'd be very surprised if Texas A&M didn't win. Adams and Vinsant should both win at 1 & 2. Maxx Lipman played well yesterday but I think Efferding likely wins that match at 3 if it finishes. Hidalgo is a solid player more than capable of beating Ore but Diego was running on fumes at the end of his match with Rhys Johnson and I think he would have lost had the match been completed. Both 5 & 6 are toss ups so for Florida to win they'd need both of them.
SEC Twitter actually doing a nice job today keeping scores updated and telling us who is serving. Florida served 1st at 2 and 3 dubs. aTm served 1st at 1. aTm is up breaks at 1 and 3. FLA up break at 2.
Not a big surprise, TAMU takes the doubles point with little difficulty. Wins at 2 & 3 while up a break serving 7-6 at 1.
Overcoming this for the Gators will take a monumental effort.
Yeah the Gators had to have the doubles point.
Watson up 5-0 on Vinsant.
Strong play so far from Florida up top - up a set at 1 and 2 and up 5-3 on 3.
Gators take the 1st set at 1,2 & 3. Count me as one of the people that didn't see that coming
Me neither, not after the way Diep and Watson played yesterday.
Hidalgo makes it 4 1st sets.
ugh, and promptly eats a bagel in the 2nd
Ore turning it on. But Knowing Ore he can quickly turn it off, Hidalgo needs to hang in there.
solid win for Diep at 1, but this is looking like a 1-4...maybe 2-4...match at this time.
that win will get him into the individual tournament in Athens.
would think so with wins over Pieters, Ore, Adams (SC), Libeitis, Waglund, Stroppe, Kallberg and now Adams (TAM) that he has a good SOS. Really bad loss to Arkansas is the only resume flaw, maybe also the early #6 loss to UCLA.
Anyways, congrats to Texas A&M. Strong team and deserving of it this year.

Saw this video on the Ole Miss site. Apparently coach delivered the news to Nik that he was SEC Player of the Year. Kind of a fun video.
32 players get on a team of some type. 32 out of about 78 regular SEC singles players. 41%. That's a pretty high % if players getting honored
I tend to agree it is too many. I prefer an awards system that recognizes the top player/dubs team at each flight/line and have the top 8-10 overall talented players get All Conference.
the sec is the best in the world,so every player gets a honor !!!
Rumors are that Goffi is out as coach of the Gamecocks if they do not win the NCAA 1st round.
Makes zero sense. 4th year and has them top 30. You think SC should be top 10 or something?
