UF gets to 3-3 with Tennessee, but looks like they'll drop the deciding 3rd set on #2 singles

close but no cigar
Great W for Nefve over Monday 5&3. Huge confidence boost. Tough to see Bonetto lose without much resistance at 5. Liked him as a junior. Wonder if injuries have taken their toll

Tennessee takes doubles points over SC, all courts going to tiebreak. SC sitting Lambling

Florida takes doubles Vs UGA and looks like they have a shot early in singles

Vols have tried--count 'em--4 different guys in the 6 spot this year and none of them can win. Harper getting a try today and he's
been the only UT player thus far to lose the first set! Good grief. Problem arose when LSU transfer Kent Hunter opted to quit college tennis not long before
the season started--maybe because he'd have been slotted in the 5 spot, which didn't appeal him. That's just a guess. Diaz is UT's #5 and he's been
super good--the team's best player, along with Monday, this season. But #6 has been dismal--mostly because Martim Prada, who had a solid (not great but
solid) season playing at No. 3 two years ago, cannot win a match at No. 6 now. He had some sort of injury after that 20/21 season and hasn't
been right since.

UF drops another 4-3, last three matches vs UGA came down to 3rd set TBs, and UGA took two of them, including a gut-wrenching one where Greif won the first 6-3 then dropped 10-8 and 8-6 breakers yikes! Dude has been the rock of UF’s singles lineup for past few weeks so no sweat

Know a loss is a loss but quite impressed by how competitive UF has been in an off year for them. Bodes well for them next year when they get a fresh infusion of top talent to go with superb coaching

I'd like to see Tennessee keep their momentum and make a run. Both men and women finished the season with a few good wins.

Nirundorn has been a nice plug in at 6 for the Gators. Got a big comeback win Vs Giusca.

Ole Miss with a big win over A&M. Ends A&M’s already slim top 16 chances.

Yeah he’s had a handful of nice singles results this year

Certainly a great asset in doubles - you never know how a guy that lacks height and S&Vs a ton is going to fare at the college level, but he seems to be making it work thus far

The Tennessee men are rolling--but ultimately the 6 spot could be costly. It's hard to beat the legit title contenders top if you've
got an almost certain L at one singles position. You're down 0-1 before you start, and it means that you absolutely have
to win the doubles point.

You said this Sunday just before Harper pulled out a win at 6 vs SC. Let's see what he can do there. He also got a win vs Vandy at that spot.

UGA rounding into a national title contender down the stretch. Just decimated Miss State in singles after dropping the doubles point.
The Dawgs are a totally different team than the one that played Florida State in January. Trent Bryde is playing excellent tennis at #3. Blake Croyder just wins matches. Giusca played 1 last year for Clemson. Not many teams have a 6 player that can match up with Giusca. Henning and Giusca have developed into a good #2 doubles team. If the current rankings stay the same(Texas at 1 and Georgia at 4, Georgia would match up very well with Texas...Texas stronger in doubles...but huge advantage to Georgia at 5 and 6).
This year's tournament in Lake Nona is wide open. If I had to place money on one team, I would have to choose TCU. However, 6 or 7 teams could win it.

Wouldn’t UVA have the same lineup as last year if Botzer plays? I guess Ross is missing but they would be a strong contender even w/o Ross. They just have a knack for showing up when it counts

Botzer is the big question mark. Will he play ? Can he win at 5? Right now, Virginia is going to lose almost all matches against top teams at 5 and 6 (if Botzer is not available)

Yes, happy to see Harper--anybody--win at 6. There's a reason, however, why Harper has played very little
singles in his career. There are 3 guys whom Woodruff could play at 6 from here on--Prada, Harper, Rodriguez.
Prada is by far the more experienced singles player, but he's lost a lot a different spots, including the 6. Rodriquez has actually played at the 6 more than anybody, I think. He
won against LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss, lost against Stanford, Alabama, Miss State and Auburn (to a guy who originally signed with UT--ouch).
But he's almost always competitive. Harper won against Vandy and SC, lost against Georgia. Prada lost against Columbia and Florida, split sets against Kentucky (unfinished). Maybe Woodruff will decide based on the likely opponent in that spot. We'll see, but it's been a drag on team performance all season. Kozlov has also played the 6,
but it seems like he'd be the last option. Diaz has been money for the Vols this year at 5--though he did lose a tough 2 setter (two tiebreaks) at Georgia.
He'll have to come through for Tennessee to win the big matches.

And now South Carolina crashes out to A&M. On current form they aren’t a top 20 team. A lot of teams would love to travel to their host site fancying their chances of an “upset”. Of course they could magically rediscover their early season success but something tells me that ain’t happening!

A team like NC State would definitely like their chances if they were sent to Columbia

Kentucky takes down Tennessee 4-3. A bit of a surprise. Ayeni bailed at the Cats at #2 with a comeback win to clinch it after Weekes blew a 5-3 set lead and flubbed a volley on clinch point at 5-3 40-40.

Holy crap what steal by Kentucky for the title!

Croyder and Perez-Peña both served for the match at 5-4 in the 3rd set. Both got broken at nearly the same time, Croyder on a 40-40 point overrule. Croyder only won one more point after that and lost the set 5-7.

Perez-Peña took it to a breaker and had two match points at 6-5 and then 7-6, but couldn’t convert on either and Weekes stole it 9-7 to clinch. Wow

Yeah that was some riveting stuff. Can't imagine what would happen if Diallo had hung around. Really like that UK kid at #2- Ayeni. He's a baller.

After South Carolina took the doubles point with a net cord service winner in the tiebreak at the 1 dubs spot, Tennessee bounces back and secures 5 first-set wins in singles with Jo Monday winning a 7-1 tiebreak. Some good tennis being played on Rocky Top today!

South Carolina won a nailbiter over Tennessee. Took #2 singles in a third set tiebreak, leaving #1 stranded with Tennessee up 5-4 in the third.

Probably felt he was being squeezed out at Florida for whatever reason. 6’4 player. Likely a good amount of upside. Will be a highly sought after transfer.
Great dubs player, not sure if he’ll be a great NCAA singles player in future or not

But played low in lineup during a down year, may not have wanted to compete for the 5 spot with some young bucks next year

Stunning move by Shelton. Gators can't be happy. But who can blame him? Traveling around with his son to Paris, London and Australia more fun than getting kicked around the curb by Manny and even by the Vols and the Kentucky Canadians.

Dawgie don’t be upset that your guys folded and are about to lose Quinn. I’d tell you I know what it’s like to have not witnessed a team title from our guys in the last few years but I’d be lying.

Gators are fine. The move was a surprise to no one. A planned occurrence w Ben turning pro and Emma finishing her career on UF women’s team. Peaceful transition of power to an established USTA PD name who would’ve never taken an assistant / associate job in the first place had he not known what was coming his way in very short order.
