Self rated tri level players

>>Self-rated players are allowed to play in Tri-Level League competition in their section but not allowed to
participate at the BNP Paribas Tri-Level Invitational Tournament (aka tri-level nationals)<<

In my area the tri level league play is in early 2016 and sectional playoff is in November, 2016. The BNP Paribas tri level tournament follows in March 2017. The self-rated players received a year-end computer rating at the end of 2016. Are they now allowed to play in the national tournament in March 2017?

If they have a C rating, they can play at the level they have a C. If they have an S rating, then they cannot play.

The BNP Tri-Level Invitational is completely separate from your Tri-Level League. Sections can send whomever they want but apparently self-rated players are not allowed. Your section apparently sends the league winner.

The Tournament isn't until March. So long as someone has a 12/31/16 computer rating it seems like there's no reason they wouldn't be eligible. However if you're that worried you should e-mail tfey@iwtg.net and ask him.

I believe the above is correct, players must have a C rating, but it is also likely that that C rating must be at the level they are going to play. So if you had a self-rated 4.0 that played as a 4.0 on your team, but got bumped up at year-end to 4.5, he would be eligible to play at the invitational, but as a 4.5, not a 4.0.

While this is all true, last year my team sent a 3.5S player who got bumped up to 4.0C. He was told he must play the 4.0 line if he played at all. When they arrived, they let him play on the 3.5 line and the officials did not seem to care. This was favorable for the team so the Captain/Players did not say anything and it all worked out.

I'd have been ticked if I was on another team. That's wrong.
