Yep. I had a whole reel of the stuff that I bought because it was cheap and I thought that it might be a good string for beginning stringing. I don't recall the feel being that bad on a fresh string job (that quickly changes), but I agree that it breaks quickly and moves all over the place. In fact I had thought that I had moved into the realm of the chronic string breaker because it would sometimes last less than an hour, but after moving on to better strings I see that that's not really the case.

I think Sensation is a great string if:
- you are a total non-string breaker
- you use low to mid tensions
- you don't mind lots of string movement
- you don't consider yourself a big hitter
If you're a big hitter and/or like tighter tensions, then yeah I totally agree. It doesn't stand up well for more than a few hours, at all. Nice feel right off the stringer IMO, but not too long after.
But again, I think it's a quality string for beginners and intermediates who aren't big string breakers. Better strings at that price point for folks that have bigger games.

I like the feel the first time I hit with the fresh string. The very next time I take the racquet out of the bag, however, the string became totally mushy.

It's not a quality string. I do admit that the string movement issue was exacerbated for me because I was using a Prince Graphite II midplus which has only 14 main strings. It was like playing with plastic spaghetti. Even cheapo synthetic gut is better, which isn't saying much.

I like Sensation. It's powerful and comfortable. I've used it for several years. I've tried other multis but I keep coming back to Sensation. For me, it lasts just as long as any other multi I've tried.
This has been my experience as well. I put it in my pro tour 280 and performed quite well over two weeks of hard hitting.

What racquet are you using, and what tension? In my experience, the durability has been the worst of any string, the feel marginal, and the string movement deplorable.
Come to think of it, this string was what got me to start using polys... because the string movement was so horrible, I had to take account into my strokes how much the strings have moved on my frame AND it had poor durability both of which were solved as soon as I made the move.

sensation was good - when there was nothing else available. it'd put basic nylon in my frames before i used sensation

i have full sensation 16g strung on my rackets (slaz pro x1). One at 55 and one at 54 (rec tension 55-60)
compared to standard synthetics which last me anywhere from 2-10 hours, i find that the durability of sensation is slightly above par. string movement is about average.

WOW. i found the exact opposite.
Pretty bad string. I was waiting for my reels of Topspin Cyber Flash to come, and I had nothing left. There was one last pack of Sensation from a few months ago that I had purchased for a friend (combined shipping), but he never got around to picking it up. Strung it up, played with it for a little bit. Not too shabby at first. Third time out on the courts, they snapped. Total 11 hours.
You know, i just picked up my new K95 with a sensation / BB combo last week. After playing all week, I thought the strings were playing weird, like they had lost their tension and balls were sailing a bit far. Now it all makes sense...I'm going to get it restrung tomorrow I think.

I used to play with this for a while, its not a bad string for feel but it does break a lot. I guess I wouldn't have noticed the problems with tension/movement so much as I was mostly playing with a fresh stringbed because of the breakage. You have all destroyed my illusions of being a big hitter 
Sensation was the first stringjob that I ever cut out of my racquet before it broke. I wasn't very discriminating at the time, and I played NXT at the time, which broke relatively quickly. Thought Sensation may have been a cheaper alternative, but I was thoroughly frustrated with it after an hour, and out it went.

I broke that crap in 4 games. Short rallies but due to my tospin winners I broke the string and my opponent twice. I don't think you're suppose to carry around 30+ rackets every match. I rate this string "fishing line." Actually I think it's worse so I don't know what to rate it anymore.

I like Sensation. Of course, there are better choices, but not for the price I find. Sensation is way cheaper than most multi's. I see it this way. For a reel of Sensation I pay about $90 what covers at least 16 restrings. In Europe I can't buy even 4 sets of Bi-phase or XR3 or NXT for this price.

Sensation feels sweet at first, but the tension maintenance sucks, the durability is lacking, and the strings move during the ball toss. Gamma Gut 2 is similar and addresses all of these issues, and it's cheaper. I've also had good experiences with Yonex 850, but I didn't like the feel as much as GGut2.

I just strung up one of my babolat pure storm teams with sensation 16 @ 55lbs. I prestretched a little but being a multi, i didn't pull as hard as i would on a poly. it's super easy to string a racquet with this stuff, probably why proshops like it. It's cheap enough to restring, if you string your own. I've played with it about a week, good pop, not as crisp as right after the stringing, but what string job is, really, come on guys! I think it is better at lower tensions, which is kinda mushy anyway on a lot of strings. I used to like high tensions, strings over 64lbs on any frame are pretty taut and are more apt to break due to grommets and frame limitations – especially if you're a big hitter.
I haven't noticed much string movement at all so far but i've only come up against a few 3.0s so far and it's been fun play, not competitive.
Wilson sensation is what it is, it's a mid priced string for mid tensions for mid players. you teens and juniors hit pretty hard, you want a poly, us older guys who like multis this is a pretty good string, better and lasting longer than babolat xcel (and cheaper). The only multi that I can truly count on is ashaway dynamite 17g, that stuff lasts forever, holds tension and has a great bite! But now that i'm going to restring both my rackets every three weeks to a month, sensation is decent. I'd like to find another brand too, maybe like prince's multi and test it out, any one with experience?
I'll play two league games this week with the week old string job, if I end up going back to my ashaway strung frame mid match, i'll let you all know you were right, k?

Sensation just seems to be used by people who dont care about their strings or use what they are given by their stringer. Sensation was OK when it first came out but is outdated and not worth the money now. Cheap syn guts and polys are way bettter than sensation imo...wilson should stop making the stuff.

just curious. it costs me $4.25 to string my racket with full sensation. considering that price is it still "horrible" ? I do have to say that I'd never pay $8 +shipping/tax for a set of sensation... that seems to be a giant rip off.... but for $4.25 its a good string.

I'm afraid i'm going to now have to recant and agree with many here. i played my second match with the sensation 16 (btw, locally it cost me $14.99!!! total waste!) and it's dead. I'm pretty sure if i played it tomorrow it would break or just give me so many thuds that I'm sure to lose. The first couple of games were great, nice tone and a crisp bounce, after the first match I started to suspect that you all were right about it.
I went ahead an got a set of NXT 17s this time, still paid too much locally for them but needed them quick. I need to just make a big order at TW.com once I find "that" string.
After playing ashaway dynamite for so long, i don't know where to go now. I know that I really liked how easy the sensation was on my elbow/wrist. What is goign to have the spin and bite that I love about dynamite but hurt less and not break the bank for a reel or 10 sets at a time??????? or should I just go back to ashaway and hit the ice after each match? love the way it plays but man, it can hurt, even at mid tensions.

NRG-2 is better than Sensation. I've not tried NXT. I use Babolat 17 gauge team gut exclusively. I've tried cheaper strings a few times over the years and I've always ended up cutting them out. NRG-2 is the only string besides gut that I haven't cut out in frustration, although I don't like it at all in the Wilson Ultra 2 I have.
