Serena and Venus' mother blasts Kim Clijsters

Cute! Resorting to the ad-hominem attack, with the use of the term 'kiddo'. Plan 2 for Thundervolley...when you cannot win an argument, resort to ad hominem attacks. So Plan 1 is call them racist bigots, Plan 2 is a further degradation of character.
What will Plan 3 be?

Completely ignore it as they have nothing else to say

The true hater here is Thundervolley who hates hundreds of millions of people.

Translated: you are on the side of those spewing typically racist venom, so you (in a laughable, desperate move) attempt to shif your own issues to one free of your socially ill beliefs.

Not at all sharp, little boy.

Gee, some people have no sense of humor.
Sorry, I guess it is hard to tell the spirit of how things are said when it is just written. It was meant tounge-in-cheek but it was meant to make a point about about people saying how much they hate entire groups of people who they accuse of hate. I wasn't really accusing Thundervolley of anything personally. I also wasn't really accusing the other poster of hanging with crack ho's.

You guys are all idiots. Because you read a book you think you know what happened during WWII and decide to argue about it on a tennis message board. What else you guys want to talk about next? How great the Federal Reserve is at keep inflation low? Or why don't we talk about how WMDs were found in Iraq and America saved the rest of the world? I suggest you guys go rant on CNN, atleast you'll be amongst your peers.

now if only we could have some moderation working here!

Mother Marjorie thinks the only other thing you forgot to add is how Thundervolley always seem to drag threads off-topic.

Other than that, Mother Marjorie thinks you pretty much summed-up Thundervolley's participation in this discussion group.

Surely the great Serena Williams would have added some more needed positively and another great storyline either way to a mostly negative affair, win or lose.

Agreed; fans want to see the best clash. Li Na was a good story, but a SW/Clijsters final would have been pure entertainment.

You don't know that. Serena is out in action for so long time and there's NOTHING to suggest that she would play at the same level as she did in 2010. And even if she did, there's a few players that can knock her out before even thinking about being in the final.

Now at 19 pages and the following remains true: the Oracene quote was not major, front-page news. No one cares, and again, this is the reason you continue to avoid proving how Oracene's words were (in your distorted estimation) "tragic" or any other would-be shock word scraped from the tattered walls of your ill mind.

Let's see if you will go for the record for numer of times a message board member can avoid providing facts to support his empty claims.

If you truly believe that statement, then why continue defending your position in a meaningless argument? Let them keep talking to themselves.

Not to mention what they have done for the sport of tennis in general and women's tennis in particular in terms of the money they have generated and the new players who started playing as a direct result of their careers.
Mother Marjorie would like to know where are these "new players"? Where are all these new up-and-coming young US players Venus and Serena have inspired?

What exactly have they done for tennis? Tennis television ratings and overall popularity have not rebounded since Graf left the sport. Other than use tennis as a springboard for their overrated fashion shows, red carpet appearances and outside commercial interests on QVC and their personal clothing lines, what have they done to spur American tennis?

I mean really!

When they retire, its not like there will be crying in the stands, like when Chris Evert retired.

I do want Serena back in action but it worries me that the foot injury could be very serious. She's the only one who can possible stand up to Clijsters and I enjoy competition. Right now it seems Kim seems to be ridiculously far and above any player in women's tennis.

Even a healthy Serena playing well could lose to Clijsters on any surface. Both are so gifted.

not according to television ratings. 2011 AO was down significantly to the 2010 AO. at least in the us.

I would say more people in China watch the final than last year.

Kim and Serena are both popular champions.

AO10 and AO11 were good touraments for the WTA in general.

They appeal to different people, a lot of people like myself enjoy watching both.

The squabbling over ratings and quality of the events they were in etc is getting old.

Kimtards, Serenatards and thier various haters will continue to argue, lets just appreciate both, they only have a couple years left.

Many players (including Graf herself) have stated how the Williams took the game to another level in terms of power and athletics, im sure that inspired and motivated most of the players to train harder and get fitter.

I agree that I cant see them opening an academy or get involved with the USTA.

If they can make money off their fashion etc more power to them, just because they play tennis doesn't mean they have to decicate their lives to it 24/7.

Fashion is a thing of taste, that QVC stuff usually sells well regardless of personal opinion. And when did MM become such a fashionista, to determine their fashion shows 'overrated'?

Did you buy the famed 'boyfriend sweater' to find it did not fit comfortably over your 'badonkadonk'?

Graf didn't exactly say that. She said something like Venus and Serena were bigger and stronger. She never said they took the game to another level.

Mother Marjorie wouldn't be caught dead in one of Serena's "boyfriend sweaters."

If I remember correctly, she's told us she wears classic Prada, which means Mother has to be quite svelte because Miuccia (Prada) likes them skinny and doesn't make anything over a size 8.

because the television viewers are primarily chinese. the US has a melting pot of cultures and nationalities so your theory holds no water.

Practically every tennis fan know Serena in America but hardly in China. Plus, fans tend to root players from their country, and air their matches on TV more often. Ask ESPN2, they'll tell you !

I think Wertheim is like one of those groupee sycophants that are hovering around Oracene who are probably as much responsible for Oracene's opinions and thoughts as mrs. O herself. I mean she's basically permanently surrounded by mooches and freeloaders who initially may have been hired to do errands but spend more time sweet-talking and singing to her all day in order to keep getting the crumbs she throws at them.

So they obviously would resort to trash Kim in order to console "aunt Brandy" cuz her daughter keeps losing against Kim but then when it all backfired then they are the ones who do the hush-hush damage control and say "oh you mean Justine auntie?". Then she nods with them without knowing what the hell they're even talking about. That's basically what happened.

Now we know where Venus & Serena get their surly disposition from. Plus, she helps them with their on court wigs.

Venus surly? Would not paint her with the same brush strokes as I would sister Serena. Also, I believe the "surly" and the attitude comes largely from dad, Richard. Not to say that Oracene is not a piece of work as well.

Point well-taken LDV. If Stefanie Graf had made that comment, you would certainly know.

LDV, her sweaters would swallow Mother Marjorie! Mother Marjorie holds a special place in her heart for the portly gals like Serena and her fans who cannot wear sample sizes (tears). She prays for their health and well-being.

Mother Marjorie has always been able to wear sample sizes because Grandmother Mother Marjorie made it her parental priority to teach Mother Marjorie proper nutrition and encourage tennis as a way towards proper physical fitness. Grandma Mother Marjorie once told Mother Marjorie, "...Darling Marjorie, the quickest path towards cellulite is through a McDonald's Drive-Thru."

Always a pleasure to interact with you, LDV. (hugs)

In order to be an historically transformative tennis player, there has to be an element of consistency which supports such transformation. Venus and Serena have never been consistent enough throughout their careers for an historical claim of taking tennis to another level. Neither woman has been able to approach the historic greats tennis accomplishments which would immediately disqualify them in that regard.
I agree that I cant see them opening an academy or get involved with the USTA.
The Williams-Price Clan have been anti-tennis establishment since the beginning of their careers. Mother Marjorie doesn't think it is a priority for Serena or Venus to help usher the next generation of US women players because would take too much attention away from them and their careers. You know, its always been about "Me...Me....Me" when it comes to those two and USTA player development.

Mother Marjorie wears Prada. Enough said.

The "boyfriend sweater" would swallow Mother Marjorie. It was created by Serena so her and her portly friends would have another fashion option, albeit, not a very good one. Mother Marjorie has a special place in her heart for the gals who cannot wear sample sizes (tears).

More of your complete, unsubstantiated bullsh*t; my sister-in-law is from the mainland and has talked about which entertainment (i.e., movie, etc.)and sports stars are big over there, and yes, the Williams sisters are well known by tennis fans (and others), since they are indeed global personalities.

Next time, wipe that maw after dropping such crap.

Comparing a movie star to a tennis player is apple to orange. You think they know Tom cruise as much as Serena? Nonsense.

They hardly know Serena in reference to the USA. If any tennis players who are well known in China would be Fed and Nadal. If you watch tennis at all, you would notice some of the tourney played in China where fans raise Swiss flages, and some painted their faces with the word "Rafa". You think the fans will miss Serena if she doesn't play Beijing this year, keep dreaming !

It's like Srichaphan, he's a star in Thailand but how many people know him in USA? Didn't think so.

So tired of you moron(maroon) keep licking Serena's @#$#.

what a load of crock! if a tennis player from lebanon made a grand slam final, i'm sure it'd be one of their most watched television sporting events in that country. same with china and na li. when sania mirza won hyberdad most of the country of india watched. but, india nor china have a real tennis market as big or notable as the usa, despite those countries having alot more people. so, ratings being down in the usa, are more significant than a country like china or india because those countries don't have a large tennis market and tennis isn't that popular there. i, mean u act like ratings are low just because no americans appeared in the final, but there have been high ratings between player's who didn't represent the usa. kim clijsters just isn't that well known is all.

if you're popular in the usa, it'll translate worldwide usually. i mean serena is just as popular and well known here in the usa than lebron james and tiger woods and they're popularity is massive here. but, that popularity translates globally too. same as serena.

You're trying to compare the Thai entertainment industry/athletes to the American ones? What a horrible comparison. Thailand is nowhere close to being a dominant global entity in both areas, whereas America is.

The point is players tend to be known more in their own country.
