I recently came across a video in which sports radio personality Chris Russo was discussing why Serena-Venus Williams matches are never any good.
I strongly agree with this statement, as I cannot remember a match between the two, in which one player did not dominate the other (the majority of the time Serena has beaten Venus, with only a few matches going to 3 sets). Although both players are very good on their own, and could beat almost any player during their prime, I feel that lack of mental strength of Venus and feeling of playing her sister, has been a major factor in determining the quality of their matches.
For example, Venus beat Serena in Indian Wells this year, yet it was clear that Serena was not 100% and was just coming back from having a baby.
The only 'good' match I can remember would be the 2008 match in Doha.
