Serena vs. JMac Exhibition

I agree with stuff like this and yet when I watch Coco v Bouchard, they sure seem to hit very hard. Mens tennis doesnt look (on tv) like it's that much better than womens tennis.
I think even on TV it looks that much different. In fact when I watch them, I can relate more with the women game. I can aspire to hit some of the shots which I see on those matches. Game in mens matches looks to be altogether from different world with no relation with the game that I play.

Since McEnroe is now over the hill for singles play, which team do you guys think would come out on top in a doubles match?

The Williams Sisters vs John McEnroe and Peter Fleming

There was a german player named karsten braasch. An he played against serena (and maybe venus too...dont remember the story). They played against each other at wimbledon i think. braasch won easily, drunk beer and smoke a cigarete between the game...

Thats what i remember of the story. Must be end of 90s or beginning 2000.

So i think that woman cant compare against men because of the physically structure nature has given.

Man I wish they would have played this.

what if they put one on at Arthur Ashe in August to benefit Covid victims?

Double header: JMac vs Serena

Doubles: Agassi/Graf vs Fed/Mirka

Serena would lose to alot of junior players in florida. ITF juniors would probably beat her 0-1

I think Serena should have played Federer, to see who the respective “GOAT of all tennis” is... oh wait.

Braasch was drunk and smoking during the changeovers (as he tells the story). He played both Williams sisters in succession in 1998 in Melbourne and beat Serena 6–1 and Venus 6–2. Braasch was thirty years old at the time, while Venus and Serena were seventeen and sixteen, respectively.

As Wikipedia describes it:

Venus and Serena Williams had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside the world's top 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both. Braasch was described by one journalist as "a man whose training regime centered around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple of bottles of ice cold lager".The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park, after Braasch had finished a round of golf and two shandies. He first took on Serena and after leading 5–0, beat her 6–1. Venus then walked on court and again Braasch was victorious, this time winning 6–2. Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance". He added that he had played like someone ranked 600th in order to keep the game "fun"and that the big difference was that men can chase down shots much easier and put spin on the ball that female players can't handle. The Williams sisters adjusted their claim to beating men outside the top 350.

I’m sure a fair number of casual “fans” would actually give Serena a chance!

Mac is a nightmare to play against. Low balls, short balls, deep balls etc. Serena would do much better against someone who can give her some rhythem and simply move her side to side.

I dont think anyone likes playing against jmacs style, especially people who cant move great

The 200th ranked male player (Karsten Braasch) trounced Serena in her prime 6-1 when they played one set. Fed would beat Serena 6-0, 6-1. I'll give her a game because she serves almost as big as the men and might sneak in one game (and that's being generous). Someone like James Blake could wake up tomorrow without having picked up a racket in a year and beat Serena love and love.

Let's be honest while Martina was about 4 -5 yrs past her peak when she played Jimmy, he was about 8-9 years past his. Despite this and the fact he was only allowed a single serve for each service point and Martina had about 2 feet extra on each side of court to play with, Connors triumphed comfortably.

It is a simple fact that if you take any of the leading ladies tennis players since Open tennis began and pitted them against their male equivalent they would be crushed, that is no disrespect to the ladies but the men are just naturally way stronger, fitter ,faster, serve much harder and are used to having to regularly return serves coming at them at 125 mph or more time and time again.

Never seen that much disrespect for Fed's return.

He'd lose a game cause of his political correctness lol
