Serena Williams blacked-out Wilson

The white W of the buttcap appears to be covered as well, however she is still carrying a Wilson bag and stencil.

She just has a different style of buttcap on the frame. They offer a Black W.

To my eyes.. its looks like a different racket.. but then again could be just the lack of paint... perhaps a SW Clash model in the works? or a SW Ultra???

She might be still under contract by Wilson, but possibly no longer having endorsement duties towards the Blade model.
I guess contracts have distinguished premium / royalties for the brand, the model, the bag, etc... and consequently different expiring dates.

What ever the frame is it looks like she has more control. Looking to see if this one still has the power slots she used for many years but can’t tell.

I’m sure she must be thinking new equipment might help her win one of the next finals she’s in, but that still looks like a Blade 104 from the handle up to the bottom of the hoop.

According to G.O.A.Ts and Gurgus on this board this Advance Racquet Tech is the sole source of Serena's abilities. Will Wilson finally make this obvious alien technology available to us?

If Wilson puts out a new Clash or Ultra I wonder if it will be 28 inch as Serena plays with 28 inch and I'm pretty sure she won't switch to a shorter racket.

Does Wilson really think that people will believe any pro player would "playtest" something new as important as a new racquet one week before a Grand Slam?

apparently FAA did playtest the new Aero VS at ATP Cup and apparently he will go back to the previous frame this week.

didn't Khachanov switch from his trusty Wilson frame to the blacked out frame at AO 2019?
struggling during the season to apparently go back to the Wilson frame

didn't Rublev switch from his Wilson to a blacked out frame right after he defeated Federer in Cincinnati 2019?
correct me if I am wrong, but I think that was his last tournament before USO 2019 and he did well there.

And how did it played out for all of them?

I'm pretty sure she won the 07 AO with a prototype-- so she might actually have a different racquet.

My bet is they make another SW autograph, but it would probably make sense as a boost to Ultra sales-- since the Clash is already selling like crazy.

Would be great if the new signature model would keep the 28 length.. but without the crazy high swing weigh of the current SW Blade 104.. High stability, power and plow can still be achieved with a racket with a lower swing weight than the current SW Blade 104..

A few years ago, Wilson had a prototype racket for Federer to try -- in an attempt to get him to put down the 90. The prototype wasn't quite to Federer's liking. Serena asked to try it. It was the prototype Blade. Serena played the entire Australian Open with one racket. That was the one Federer gave her.

So yes, it is possible and has happened.

Whatever it is, it doesn't have the Power Holes that the SW104 has along the 3 and 6 o'clock parts of the head. It looks like it has regular grommets.

Yes, the W Series Gypsy Rose was 113 and her Hyper Hammer (The Skunk) was 110 I believe.
Venus also had a W Series I think was 111

Did anyone see her play with it in AO R1? It could have just been the angle of the shots but it looked like an incredibly thin beam...

I still dunno if I believe she is actually switching to a different racquet though...
