Rich people marrying rich people, of course. And it's always a coincidence, surely.

Wait, who's suggesting it's a coincidence in the first place?

Cool thing is both serena and her fiance both have accounts on reddit.
People are trying to get serena to do an AMA on there for a while now.

Congratulations to Serena. Hope that she has found true love and long-term. Only the engagement so far. Hopefully, she will now have the motivation to have fun, and stick around playing the tour for a few more years.

Wow, someone finally ready to make an honest woman of Serena. Hope this one works out for her after so many disappointments!:)

Wonder if she will change her name to Serena Ohanian? ;)

I think it's a love match. They're both very much alike. Leaders in their field of work but know how to have a good time, laugh, and be goofy. I wish them all the best. Why would anyone wish them ill?
I don't think they're the same religion but Serena is very liberal with her beliefs. Maybe shouldn't stir that pot on here. But I don't know his religious beliefs.

Serena Williams was born in Saginaw, Michigan and was raised in Compton, California and West Palm Beach, Florida.

"Williams was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and continues to adhere to that faith today, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t tripped up along the way. In 2009 she cursed out a line judge, even using the Lord’s name in vain, for making a call with which she didn’t agree. Talking about the incident several years later she said,

What bothered me most was that I was representing my religion. I just felt like anyone who knew I was a Witness was stumbled and I really don’t want to stumble anyone. They had to have a talk with me. And I knew it was coming.1

And then there’s that whole Olympics thing. Jehovah’s Witnesses are not supposed to show allegiance to anything but God–including countries. So participating in the Olympics, which is considered a nationalistic activity, could be looked down upon. But Williams seemed to feel no qualms with representing her country. In fact during the 2012 Olympics she said, “We’re here for our country.”2 And then when the U.S. flag came loose of its holder and came sailing down while she was singing the national anthem, some Jehovah’s Witnesses called it a sign of God’s disapproval.3

Earlier that year, though, she made it clear that she’s still dedicated to her faith. After winning Wimbledon she said, “I want to thank Jehovah for letting me get this far.”4 And talking about how she was reconnecting with her religious roots she said she would only marry a man who shared her faith.5

So even though some Jehovah’s Witnesses consider her a less-than-ideal representation of their faith, Williams clearly feels devoted to her religious beliefs. "

As a Jehovah Witness, she is bound by law to marry someone of her faith. If not.... doomed to a eternity in hell. :(

Wow! Complete shock that she got engage again! I thought she was engage to her coach but must of broke up! No at all following her personal life until now! Wonder if this time she will go through with it? I think if she gets married and wins another GS; she will retire!

She and Mouratoglu were an item for a while but I read somewhere he went back to his wife and broke it off.

They never publicly confirmed their relationship, but whatever they had was over a while ago. I suspect around Wimbledon 14. Patrick's wife just had a baby, so they've been back together for a while.

@stringertom
I don't read anything you say because it's not officially from the guys who run slams because nothing but slams count. <holding ears and saying "blah blah blah blah"> :D

Someone check DiRRiea..... serena is marrying a white boy.

He must be killing himself

Did not know that Patrick and his wife had another kid. For someone as proud as Serena that has to sting a bit, considering all the years she spent waiting around for him.

Many Armenian's identify as Caucasian although many share Middle Eastern features. Armenia has a very complicated relationship with both Europe and the Middle East as many of you know. Tennis fans are pretty knowledgeable about the world and historical predilections.

I am reserving my congratulations until I see that aisle. Although I think Serena's made a great choice for her husband and Alex is a very lucky man to marry the Greatest, you still have to be cautious with this celebrity stuff. When they properly say I do, I'll be amongst the first to congratulate them. :)
