Um, that’s her point. We’ll never see a man draw 3 code violations in a gs final. Only happens to a woman**.
**after already receiving a first warning, smashing a racket, and verbally abusing the umpire for 15 minutes.

i can't believe that y'all think serena is worse than telling someone to to **** his mother, like seriously? serena certainly could have handled herself better and that was on her, but y'all are crazy for thnking its worse than what jmac did.

PM - He said in an interview right after the match , "This umpire was the chair umpire of most of the finals of Rafa - and Toni is coaching every single point .... and he never gave a warning so I don't get it"

Calm, cool and collected.

But you said it takes men 5 minutes? So you were wrong then? Pipe down sexist.Lol you bring up three players (one of which is retired)..... I can bring up the whole WTA
Edit: you forgot Gulbis
Only if the kitten is your daughter. You all owe me an apology. I have a kitten and I stand for what's right for her.
I don't think there's any reason why she should be more demur because she's a female. If men can be abrasive so can women..
No, I'm a man and men are never wrong. But you said it takes men 5 minutes? So you were wrong then? Pipe down sexist.
We do live in a funny world. Novak who I love sits around without his shirt off for ten minutes after a dude somehow gets to change his sweaty clothes with no penalty while a girl flips her shirt around and gets a warning lol. I don't even know wtf to think.
Maybe if her coach didn't coach her which everyone knows is against the rules GOATMOS wouldn't have given a warning. I love how the Serena defence is nothing more than "The umpire should not enforce the rules because it's a final". WTF kind of BS logic is that? If he let one player receive coaching while the other was following the rules, that is a clear advantage. Why the hell would he do that?
Use your brain...
I don't think I have ever seen a man get a coaching violation. EVER. Like EVER. Not that I have seen it a lot period lol.
Osaka wasnt up a break. It was on serve 3-4.At that point, Osaka was already up a break 4-3. I'm confident she would have held, if not would have been 4-4 back to Serena to serve. Chance Serena would have been up 5-4. Osaka most likely holds and maybe breaks Serena for 6-5 then eventual game cause Osaka' serve was on point, running forehand pushing opponent back, and she was just too focused.
Roddick did say that. About a half hour after, he also tweeted "Emotional first take by me. common sense should’ve prevailed in my opinion. He’s within his power to make that call. I’ve seen an umpire borderline coach a player up,and another dock a game for being called a thief in same tourney. There needs to be some continuity in the future" along with admitting "Absolutely true. Completely biased commentary by me. We’ve been friends since we were young kids. So be it". Fair, IMO.
As for Azarenka - well, I guess we'll see whenever a man gets three code violations in a major final. Till then, who knows?
Not surprising. The players know the truth, on court coaching happens all the time and goes unpunished yet Serena gets the warning/penalty in a slam final. Ludicrous. Men get away with far worse. Interesting hearing from the players perspective instead of some forum trolls.
First of all, she isn't 37 yet. Secondly, she won Australia last year and reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open this year, so her "decline" is still better than most players' peak.Serena at 37 can't beat these kinds of players in the final of majors. It's ridiculous that there isn't more discussion about her obvious age-related decline.
...The WTA got along fine in her absence and they obviously will get along fine after she retires. ...
Its kind odd cause you would think these coaches have some basic signals like a cough or something for basic movements lol. They're handed out from time to time. I've seen Nadal pinged for it several times. It might be that there's a lot of interaction between coaches and players but it's normally difficult for the umpire to make out what is being said/communicated. In this case the umpire saw the gesture clearly so ruled on it.
How many times is someone going to play the race or gender card to get out of taking responsibility for their actions?
I weep for today’s culture.

Olympia just told Serena she owes her an apology for involving her in the drama.
