Disgraceful from Serena, from crowd and Katrina Adams.
Shame on you.

Ramos was a joke. For those who are quick to support Ramos by saying Serena's coach admitted he coached, her coach also said that this goes on in every tournament. Everyone watching that game, including the announcers, could see that Serena wasn't looking at her coach when he was sending the hand signals. Even on the 3rd game conduct violation, he got too sensitive and takes a game away in a close Grand Slam finals for calling him a thief? C'mon.
Serena is a drama queen. No doubt. Ramos seemed like one himself too today.
Indian Wells is ready and waiting. Better weather.
Again, even if you dont like serena, you are literally a scared little girl if you side with this “typical american cop” referee.
"I HAVE A DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Didnt watch. I saw her say he owes her an apology. Did she really mention her daughter?
She didn't berate him. She was simply questioning why she got a code violation for the first alleged offence which in addition to the racket abuse violation(justified) gave her a point penalty. How is repeatedly questioning the umpires decision deemed as bersting the officialDude. What are you talking about? She verbally berated the chair and questioned his integrity repeatedly after he CORRECTLY gave her a warning for coaching. Despite her righteous indignation, her coach admitted it was coaching. Whether the abuse warranted a game or not, alleging that she simply said "thief" under her breathe is disingenuous. You can debate if the penalty was appropriate on that stage (probably not), but the behavior was out of line. That's the risk you take when you keep pushing the line. I wouldn't let my kids act like that. ( I too have a daughter.)
The old ‘it’s not a crime because everyone does it’ line. Are you 12?
Are you talking about Twitter? Twitter is where intelligent discussion goes to die so wouldn’t be surprised.
The 2nd violation is key. Since she already had a warning she should have known she can’t smash her racquet. The 1st violation might have been her coaches fault but you still need to be aware.
Also Naomi needs to celebrate this more. Enough of this already.

yes, I don't think Serena knew the rule. She could have prevented all the drama by not smashing her racket and accepting that Pat Mo was giving her signals and she definitely saw it because Serena said "he was giving me the thumbs up" which was part of the coaching signals Pat Mo gave. The 2nd violation is key. Since she already had a warning she should have known she can’t smash her racquet. The 1st violation might have been her coaches fault but you still need to be aware.

Playing the sexism card like a boss! If i were a woman i would be offended that someone played that card in such a moment. Totally psychopathic behavior from Serena today.
It's actually sad that Serena doesn't lose more often, so we could see more from the real Serena Williams.
Well a coaching violation and unsportsmanlike conduct are two different things. Usually people get called for things like cursing at the umpire or sexual gestures, but we don't usually see coaching violations or someone saying your stealing a point from me, or you're a thief to the umpire -- is that really a code violation in comparison to what we usually hear in those kinds of exchanges?NK got a warning and a fine for his water bottle gestures (simulating masturbation).
Nadal received a coaching violation warning at IW in 2013 or 14.
Ryan Harisson has gotten warnings and point penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct.
I’d say it’s consistent.
The umpire owed her an apology, good grief. All the commentators are saying she was a leader lol. After she makes Osaka’s victory about Serena, are you kidding me. It’s very difficult for me to be a Serena fan. You gotta love Osaka.I have never seen drama like that before in any sport ever - who said women's tennis is boring?
Credit must go to the Umpire - Serena gave him a non stop verbal bollocking / bashing for must have been close to a minute or more.
Absolutely disgraceful conduct by Serena exposing her true character.
To Naomi - never seen a female player counter the awesome power of Serena that well before.
Samantha Stosur bullied Serena for power in the final once before - but that was by getting in with the first hit in the rally. This was a bit different. Naomi was hitting Serena's aggressive groundies with equal if not more pace, unbelievable!
Serena should be banned from the ATP Tour for her disgraceful rant towards the Umpire.
The most appalling rant I've ever heard by any player to a match official in the history of this sport.
Then be consistent with the rules.
Anywayy problem isn't really with the first 2 violations but the Gampe penalty was absolutely atrocious officiating.
I agree. She shouldn't have let that get to her (and being able to move past those kinds of distractions is part of figuring out how to win). She failed at that so Naomi deserved to win. If you are wronged on the court during the heat of the match. Serena gets wronged a lot it seems, but she also carries it on for much longer than it should go on which I think angers the umpire to the point where they get an itchy trigger finger.I've seen bad officiating overall at the USO in lots of matches this year. She focused to much on being accused of coaching instead of playing. Move on and strategize. Why keep bringing it up on changeovers? It's a championship match and you're down a set.
What does Serena having a daughter have to do with what happened on court today? I am sure her daughter did not see the match. I was rooting for Osaka but did not think Serena deserved a game penalty, even though she should have shut up after she got the point penalty for smashing her racquet. Sometimes, Serena is her own worse enemy. Also, I thought the controversy would have shaken up Osaka and cause he to lose momentum butthankfully, her last service game was near perfect.Okay that’s cool but remember this.
SHE HAS A DAUGHTER!
Can everyone stop being so mean, the woman was on her death bed fighting for life only 12 shorts month ago and now in the FINAL of a Grand Slam. Quite incredible really.
Just saw Serena’s press conference. She still thinks she did not do anything wrong. You can’t constantly berate the chair and expect no consequences..
Lol, “You owe me an Apology say it, you owe me an apology” Get real Serena. I still think Osaka was great and held her ground after all the BS, blaming men yada yada.Drama Mama does it again!!!![]()
