Still the same old nonsense. Slams decide these issues. It is not up to independent bodies to decide the length of matches at slams. If there were such, things woud be different.

So can you admit you are wrong and move on?

Play 3 out of 5 sets if you want equality and same dollar winnings as men. Swimming and track don’t have shorter distances for female athletes.

No, you're just making broad assumptions to justify this counter movement against political correctness and protected class empowerment that is sweeping this country. I guess that makes you the real racist according to your logic
Since when was political correctness a good thing?
It’s what enabled Serena to play the victim in the first place.

And protected class empowerment? Again, since when was having protected classes seen as a good thing?

The presence of political correctness and protected classes has led this hideous identity politics swap we’re dealing with now.

This kind of coaching has no effect on the match and legalised WTA coaching seems to take the form of coaches mouthing platitudes and players ignoring what's being said.

As I said before, the coach should be removed from the arena at the change of ends if coaching is detected. Let the punishment fit the crime, as G&S would have it.
Telling someone to move in towards the baseline won't effect the match? LMAO what a line of BS

Jordan was the biggest Dbag in sports and yet people have no issue separating his claim to the throne from his personalit. If anything, people point to is as a result of reason for his success. So yes, it is clear we have separate standards for women and men.

Thai is what j Mac was saying too during the men’s final preview. Why does he Inject himself into the game. So these idiots should expect the chair umpire to just sit there and take the rants and smile? What utter nonsense. And mac was saying how Ramos should have shown Serena more respect. Huh!? STFU already. Should he have bent over so Serena could shove a tennis ball down somewhere?

Pat Mac was a little more objective but still a Serena backer. Chris every definitely acknowledged it was ultimately Serena’s doing.
John McEnroe has below zero credibility when talking about an incident like this. We're still waiting for him to apologize for all of his ridiculous antics during his playing years.

This is one of the reasons why the male players continue to overshadow the female players. For example, we continue to discuss the achievements of Borg/Connors/Lendl/Edberg et al, vis-a-vis a Chris Evert, Martina, Hana Mandlikova or a Lindsey Davenport ?

Don't compare the greatest athlete of all time to Serena.

I dislike Williams as a person and I am not an American so the first thing that strikes the outside observer is that the idea that it is lack of 'sportsmanship' that disturbs people about Williams is patently absurd.
Oh so now you dislike Serena as a person too. Is that because she is black, or because now finally you see her horrid character traits and unsportsmanlike conduct?

The point I made in the thread, which you fought tooth and nail to discredit, was that Serena Williams is an arrogant victor and an abysmal loser. You argued all evidence I made to support this claim by calling me a racist. Yet what she did to Osaka only fully confirms what I was saying in that thread that I made back in March. Some of the worst display of sportsmanship I have ever seen on a tennis court.

I'm glad we can finally agree.

It is absurd. Most player loves and respect Serena. That can't be due to bad sportsmanship.

Your side practices its own form of PC and your side plays the victim all the time.

Or haven't you noticed the endless complaints about the media?

You just don't notice it because of your bias.

And populism is a form of identity politics, just in case you don't study that at university!

Clean your room. Sort yourself out. I'm on your side.

It's an opinion so unless you have evidence to offer that is otherwise convincing I won't be revising it.

The evidence is obvious, off-court furtive signaling is against the rules--if it can't effect the out come of a match why isn't it done openly? If coaching is useless, and has no effects, why take tennis lessons from a coach? Players are busy competing on an instinctive level, they don't have the luxury of having an overview of the action from a tactical and strategic perspective that a coach has from the sideline.

I was not a Serena fan and in all honesty spend very little time watching womens tennis in general. Simply admired the achievements over the years of the amounts of slams she has won. Always felt she is a narcissist though and does on occasion have these epic meltdowns that reflect a troubled mind. It is so shameful how Osaka has been robbed of her day as a champion

Remove the coach from the court immediately then, if that's the general belief, problem solved!

I can't remember assuming that about you in particular, but the newspapers tell me that America has a big problem and this forum is not persuading me to the contrary.

Eh, kind of like how you "just assumed" I don't like black people simply because I was criticising Serena Williams.

The backward people are the ones that use protected classes and the political correctness nonsense to excuse themselves of taking responsibility for their actions and choices.

They also are the ones that try to pigeonhole people into categories based on their race and gender.

In conclusion, the people hysterically shouting racism at everything are usually incredibly racist and sexist themselves.

You must not have been watching tennis too terribly long. Where do we start?

Tennis behavior became "entertaining" with the advent of professionals. The godfather of bad behavior was Pancho Gonsales. His progeny were Ilie Nastase (who called him "Little Father", Jimmy Connors, and John McEnroe - all of whom Gonsales counseled/coached).

Jimmy Connors defaulted a match on 22NOV86 against Ivan Lendl after throwing a tirade at the chair. Obscenities, personal insults, etc etc (sound Serena-ish?) were thrown at the chair prior to Connors storming off court. He was fined and suspended.

Ilie Nastase was defaulted/reinstated in a match against John McEnroe at the US Open in 1979. He was wrongfully reinstated, IMO. The reinstatement was due, in my opinion, to a drunken night crowd that almost rioted.

John McEnroe was defaulted in a match versus Michael Pernfors at the Australian Open in 1990. On a side note, the match was held in January and McEnroe wasn't clear on when the new default sequence was implemented. He pushed too far ala Serena. McEnroe admitted he thought he had another step before default.

Here is one more:

These are just off the top of my head. I'm sure there have been more. To play the gender card is really proof of nothing other than ignorance of the sport. Williams knew her status in the match and knew one more misstep would result in a game penalty. The chair acted within the rules, Williams did not. Search the boards, the chair has been a strict enforcer of the rules regardless of gender. Not only did Williams call him a thief and a liar, she threatened him by saying he would never call another point of hers again.... Really? So the lunatics (pun intended) are running the asylum now?
I guess we agree........

Protected class
In United States federal anti-discrimination law, a protected class is a characteristic of a person which cannot be targeted for discrimination. Individual states can and do create other protected classes, which are protected under that state's law.

Sounds to me as though protected class actually adds to the civil rights amendment.

Protected means protected from discrimination, not from criticism, so don't conflate the two so mischievously.

Your first response to my original post was "She's black, get over it!" Insinuating that I dislike her purely because you think that I don't like the colour of her skin.

So yeah, safe to say you made the assumption I'm racist. You should really find another source of news and information if reading the newspaper can skew your judgement so poorly.

Otherwise known where i come from as anti-discrimination law and, therefore, not subject to the sort of confusion that seems to be endemic elsewhere.

Are you guys serious? There is a difference between protected classes in the civil rights sense of legally being denied service and in the context how it what used here which means socially you can't criticized certain groups of people for anything without being labelled a something a phobe.

BTW, I've often been criticized by right winger types here for being honest like when I thought Nastase was out of line or about the Indian Wells incident.

But you SJWs are the worst you might have good intentions and I'm on your side in theory of equal opportunity for all humans but you are so freakin' obnoxious with your mob mentality, you are doing more harm than good. I mean GOD you aren't helping with this insufferable cr*p.

Women should be paid more if they play 3 out of 5 and nurse in between sets.

Well kindly inform them the excuse this time is officially sexism. Serena said it, famous man hater BJ King (lols) said it. So whoever said it was racist is actually sexist for recognising the sexism

Nobody says this but it sure makes for a nice red herring to distract from the fact that you either didn't know or want to pretend the protected class is not a thing

Agreed 100%

SJWs are thankfully losing because of their petulant behaviour, but they’re too stupid to take a step back and temper their approach.

Instead, they double down on the bullcr@p and then blame their losses on “widespread institutional racism and sexism”

MLK would be turning in his grave right now if he saw the way all the “woke” minorities are behaving. (Defending criminals based on skin colour, attacking cops, not taking responsibility for their actions/choices, rioting, looting local businesses, discriminating against and attacking white people for being white etc etc etc)

Maybe you need to take his advice and listen to the content of his speeches and not assume that he agrees with you because he’s black....

Or, as you put it, “eDuCaTe YoUrSeLf”
Yeah, you sound like you're too low IQ to bother responding to. Nice coded language though, be a little more transparent with your agenda.
