Serena's Queen USO outfit

Abloh -- artist, architect, friend of Kanye West and artistic director of Louis Vuitton -- created two dresses for the court, one for the day in white and one for evening in black.

It is said to be inspired by the six-time US Open singles champion's love of ballet.

They feature breathability in a dance-inspired skirt evoking a tutu and a bodice cut out that looks like a ballerina's; it looks completely off the shoulder but is a visual trick -- while still giving support and motion on both sides.

"With Serena, we have one of our generation's most powerful, inspiring athletes as the muse," Abloh said. "I was trying to embody her spirit and bring something compelling and fresh to tennis."

In addition to the two dresses, the "Queen" collection will also feature a bomber-style jacket, which the champ will wear off the court, a bag and three pairs of shoes, a pair of Nike Court Flare 2 as well as two pairs of The 10 in limited edition.

The market welcomed the news.

Nike's share value gained 3.05 percent Monday to 82.18 dollars.

Looks good. Glad something in the tennis realm got the Off-White treatment. IMO Virgil needs to do an OW Air Tech Challenge 2.

That has to be one of the worst kits I have ever seen.

Meanwhile the Catsuit won't be allowed at the French Open next year.

The French Tennis Federation president, Bernard Giudicelli, says the tournament that Williams has won three times is introducing a dress code to regulate players' uniforms because ''I think that sometimes we've gone too far.''

In an interview in Tennis Magazine's 500th edition, Giudicelli singled out the figure-hugging black suit that Williams wore this year at Roland Garros and said made her feel like a superhero.

Giudicelli said: ''It will no longer be accepted. One must respect the game and the place.''

Nike's "perfect" response - short from giving the middle finger:

"You can take the superhero out of her costume, but you can never take away her superpowers."

Don't shoot the messenger, just quoting the word "perfect" from the article. Not a fan of Nike myself - just personal preference.

Off White x Nike Serena is probably the biggest collaboration in tennis since Y3 with Adidas

Off White is very in trend right now and jacket probably if resold for an easy 2K USD with comparsion to many other off white x Nike items that came out this year.

Nike and many other brand are doing designer because that’s what young adults are into... fashion and being “trendy”.
Tennis kids can afford 800$ shoes easily so they know this...

If Kanye West made Yeezy or collab with Monfils or Nick K the fashion media would would be going crazy. We know Roger Fed is a huge kicks fan and there is a YouTube that he goes shoe shopping for for limitless while we was in NYC.

Wilson and Supreme NYC had tennis balls at $60 resell pricing

Wilson and Bape have a racquet easily I bet reselling for over 1000 $ for a racquet.

Designers specially street wear are profitable compared to even tennis players now

I can tell that majority of those who disapprove or disliking of the uniform has got to be over 35 years old...
I said this in many many many posting that tennis has left the building on 30+ if you were born before 1990 you do not matter anymore... I am 35 and my wife is a personal buyer and fashion and trend is her thing so I am around it.

These brand like Supreme made toilet paper and it is being resold at $50 for roll of 3
SOLD OUT YOU CAN BUY THEM UNLESS YOU PAY 100$ for them from a reseller

Average Off White x Nike collab is easily 500-1000 on resell value...

You see the camo paint jobs, and neon clothing...
You think they care about the 30 plus crowd???

Kids... this is tennis way of pulling a Joe Camels
Parent will buy or kids will find a way to buy a 1000$ shoes and clothing...

Tennis is getting to get main stream soon
You’ll be seeing Kardashian’s tennis clothing line for little girls soon.

Anybody want to spend $500 on it? That’s what it’s listed as retail price.
I‘m sure it will fly off the shelves in an instant. Serena is very influential and popular person (and a mother).

Solid rant. I give it 8/10.

I don’t know which is more unreal to me, the outfit itself or that Serena thinks she looks good in it.... The logo may as well be ‘Yikes’.

For being on trend right now I like it. She has never been one to go along with the norm, and with the kits getting louder and more out there that is saying something. But to be clear to me it doesnt look bad but than again if she doesnt have the aesthetic or body type you care for it is easy to hate on this whole thing.

One of the worst Nike outfits I've ever seen. Period.

I can guarantee you that people said the same thing about this look but now its viewed as cutting edge and ahead of its time. I feel we will say the same about Serena in a few years. To partner with a designer who is pushing the envelope from a look perceptive with someone with Serena's energy and personality its a great fit and more befits her than anyone else on the women's team Nike front.
