Serena's quest to move up in womens tennis history

If Serena won her 12th slam title at this U. S Open, or even if it wasnt here whenever her next slam singles title comes, she would move into a tie for 6th all time with Billie Jean King and Suzanne Lenglen. Here is the current list:

1. Margaret Court 24
2. Steffi Graf 22
3. Helen Wills Moody 19
4-tie. Chris Evert 18
4-tie. Martina Navratilova 18
6.-tie. Suzanne Lenglen 12
6.-tie. Billie Jean King 12
8. Serena Williams 11

Maybe that's why some say the women's tour is boring. No one is rewriting the record book the way Federer is on the men's side. Most of those names have been there for decades.

I would rather her stay away from the top of the list. I haven't really heard from most of the older ladies (Court, Moody, and Lenglen) but the other ladies on that list all seem to be very well spoken, and very intelligent and GREAT tennis players. Serena is (IN MY OPINION) a complete ditz with no brain in the huge body. She shows no respect towards any other player besides her equally ditzy sister. The reason she has 11 GS titles...there is absolutely NO talent around her or her sister. I mean, could you possibly picture Serena trying to do what Ms. BJK did when she was playing? By that, do you think she would stand up and say "We as women deserve equal rights and pay as the men!"? I dont think so because it reminds me of when she and Venus were at the VERY VERY TOP of the WTA back about 02 or thereabouts....they came out and ran their big mouths and said they could beat any man on tour. So they got some poor sap not even top 500 I don't think, and he mopped the floor with them.

I just realized I went on a rampage, and forgot what I was supposed to be typing...oohkay, Serena and Women's History. Short and simple, I HOPE NOT!

It is sort of an empty quest. Aside from the number of grand slams, Serena doesn't have the other accomplishments (e.g., tour titles, weeks at number one, consistent results...) on her resume to back up her number of majors.

I suppose this would be easy to overlook if Serena had a stylish or original game. That's why no one really questions the positions of Lenglen and King. In fact, all the women on that list have very original games. There's really nothing original about hitting the ball straight down the sidelines as hard as you can.
