A few days back, i moved from platform stance to pinpoint. The problem had been that in matches I get my feet all wrong on follow-through (with platform).
I immediately liked the pinpoint - *for me* cleaner hitting of ball, and feet landing correctly after serve. Now I have always tossed slightly ahead of me - if the toss is above then my serve is slow and sails out.
Pinpoint means I am taking a step forward, so the earlier (forward) toss is always now above my head, so the serve is now slow and goes way out.
Anyone else who changed stance -- did you have to change the toss too. I am sort of afraid of throwing much further out. Do most people contact the ball when its above their head, or one foot ahead or what.
Some tips on toss and contact point would be appreciated. Is the contact point, in a straight line from server to net, or to the right or left (for right-hander, flat serve).
