Server lag, double posts, etc. awareness thread

Seems that this is a chronic disease...

Posts are currently not recording properly (hence the many double posts at the moment) and it's going slow again. More server problems? Can someone look into this before it gets any worse?

It's now almost 24 hours since the issue appeared and there is still no solution. Are you even aware of the problem?

In addition, I notice that one cannot upload an avatar.

Even though file was about 16KB.

On a similar occasion, being the assistant admin of another ww forum, I purged all personal messages and conversations older than 3 months, also reduced the number of the members by deleting all dead souls. This relieved the database so all queries went through without delay.

Time to replace the hamster on the wheel again.

My sister keeps rodents and they need a varied diet rather than just pellets - would probably last longer and run faster.
