Serving/ hitting against wall with pressureless balls?

Usually if the weather permits, I usually spend 3-5 days of the week either practicing serving for 1-2 hours or hit againt the wall for 1-2 hours. I have a bunch, well not a bunch but 10-20 semi-dead balls. I rarely spend money buying cans of balls. I recently read about pressureless balls and it caugh my attention b/c its supposed to be really durable. However, some people say they are heavier than regular pressurized ball. My question is it benefitial to practice serve/hit against wall with pressureless balls. Or should I just stick to my semi dead balls?

I used to all the time. I used the old tretorn balls. I got kinda adicted to them & would always use them when I played or rallied. they are heavy & I they would "sink" into the string bed & the spin I got was awesome! they also made a real loud pop when struck; kinda a confidence booster. semi-dead or dead balls are embarassing. you wil go no where using them.

Kirko, you sound a lot like me. When I was young I used to practice against a concrete wall a lot, and my favorite ball was the old Tretorn pressureless -- they came in a cardboard box. They just felt right for pounding against the concrete, and I usually made an exercise of staying out there until I could pop the ball. That was more of a feat with the Tretorns than regular pressurized balls, and I'd usually wind up with a ball that was bald or with the cover in tatters before it finally split along the seam.

I'm not sure about a wall unless you have a lot of room to hit through the full swing. Serving shouldn't be a problem with the ball you use, unless you're working on getting the ball over the net.
