I'm looking for a raquet which has lots of control on baseline shots but at the same time is "relatively" easy to serve. espacially for flat serves. Which raquet would you recommend?
(preferably a 18x20 pattern).

Also I tried to put extra weight on my current raquet and that helped but also was too much for my elbow.

Thnx

You want a racket that is in the 11 to 11.7 ounce range so you can add lead to suit your game. You may want to watch the stiffness given that you've had trouble with your elbow. Stay away from long rackets as well if you want to save your elbow. Do a search with flex under 66 and with weight in the range above and I'm sure you'll find some good candidates. Whether you need a players stick or tweener depends on your game, keeping in mind that tweeners tend to be stiff.

You might try demoing the LM Instinct (tweener) and the LM radical (players) to see if they meet your needs. I wouldn't worry too much about string pattern.

Prestige may be okay, but we don't know what this guy's level is. Prestige may be too much to handle (and its really ugly too).

by easy serving are you meaning easy to swing and pronate your wrist on? i have a VEngine9 that serves like a beast both flat and spin, is not heavy, is headlight, and an 18x20 pattern and also more control oriented. it happens to be for sale as well if you are interested :) Ed

I was looking for the same as you are & ended up with a Prestige Classic MP (660). Only disadvantage is it's discontinued, but you can find them on the web at a few places. Great racquet & with a very generous sweetspot.

Great serving racket that meets your criteria.

Yonex RD Ti-70 Long (98 midplus) is a great serving racket.
Dense 18x20 string pattern, 27.5 length, flexible 62 RDC rating.
Very much a control racket from the baseling similar to the Head Classic Midplus. Very manueverable racket that plays like a standard length frame. Too bad they are discontinued.

You won't find a better serving racquet than the Wilson HPS 5.0 Stretch, discontinued a few years ago.
