Getting my racquet soon, a brand new Prince Rebel 98 strung with Volkl Cyclone 16 gauge strings.
Please help me out with the setup, need it to be perfect for an upcoming match and not sure exactly what to do
I was thinking about putting on a Prince Silencer for the dampener, and Yonex Super Grap for overgrip. Any advice for other aspects? Lead tape? Any suggestions are appreciated :)
Thanks!

Having the racquet be perfect is a personal choice of the person using the frame. One persons ideal setup may be garbage for another. That being said, I have three Rebel 98s and they are all 100% idenical with the exception of me experimenting with a hybrid setup in my newest frame. For all I use Wilson Pro overgrip and a Wilson ying-yang vibtation dampener. Two of my frames have NRG2 strung at 55lbs and the other is using a hybrid of Beast 17g at 53lbs and PPA crosses at 53lbs.

How do you like the nrg? I know its a soft string, but how is power and conrol in this frame? Spin?

Prince silencer and Yonex Super Grap are both great choices (they are what I use). I wouldnt add any lead unless you have plenty of time to test it before playing a competitive match, it will have a big impact on the feel of the racquet.

NRG2 has always been my go to string as I have used it for so long that I have a hard time trying out other strings. With my full setup @55lbs I get plenty of power and spin out of the Rebel. I was using the same full NRG2 setup in my former frames the Youtek Radical MP and I easily have more power and spin with the Rebel. Control is so close that its debateable.

ATLjack, are you JackB1? Just wondering because JackB1 is from Atlanta and you both seem to have the warrior and Rebel 98.

I don't actually have a Rebel 98 either, but I have been demoing one against the Warrior. I did just buy 2 Warriors...

I used NRG and Prince Attack both at 53 pounds. The racket puts so much spin on the ball you can go low with tension and still keep the ball in the court. I would like to try a poly hybrid to see how that feels
