Severe Osgood Schlatter's Disease

I broke my knee five months ago and after 3 months, I started playing again (I'm 13 btw).
So I have always had osgood-schlatter's, and the soreness was pretty manageable; it was dull and not too bad.
Just two days ago, my knee started to throb like crazy when I played tennis, and today the pain was sorta sharp.
This only happens in the knee I broke, so I wonder if there are any connections there.

I would appreciate any advice.

My son has it pretty badly in one leg. Very tall for his age, basketball player playing on too many teams and too many practices. Obviously see a Dr first and foremost. What we were told is that all that you really can do is manage it through how much stress you put on it, and doing the right types of exercises to strengthen the right muscles. good news is that the vast majority of people grow out of it once their musculature catches up to their bone growth. I had a little bit of it in both knees growing up, but I didn't play sports on hard surfaces as much.

i just went to doc to get knees checked out,... even after he manipulated my knee, asked me questions about where the pain was, how i injured it, etc... he still needed xrays and mris...

best advice i can give, is not to "suck it up" and "tough it out"... stop playing, wait til pain goes away, and probably see a medical person in between...

Broke your knee? What, exactly, does that mean? Always had OSD? You mean since birth? Or, more likely, for the past 2-4 years?

Very likely connection between knee pain and OSD but can’t tell for sure from the info given. Not uncommon to develop pain primarily in (just) one knee.

I recall having it as a kid and my son had it as well. It is pretty common in teenage tennis players.

I agree with others. Seek a doctor experienced in treating it.

Seems stretching helps.
Now the pain is virtually gone. W

To anyone reading my post, do a bunch of quad stretches. The one that helped was bringing the heel up to the buttocks and pulling it upwards.
