I disagree, in the last three years Federer had the best results at the Australian Open, compared to other GS tournaments.

Riiiiight, like the time he won Wimbledon in what was it, like, 2012?

It's not like Fed's losing before quarters anywhere, but his chances still are best on hard fast.

Basel is not on his calendar.

I read that he wants to buy Basel Indoors but current owner (Brennwald. Who?) refused. Personally I would love to see Federer Open someday.

Rogers and Cincinnatti are back to back. I don't think he'll do both say if he wins Wimby again. Cincinatti with its fast courts is a better prep for the USO for him whereas even in his prime years he lost to upcoming guys like Gasquet and Djoko in Canada.

When was that happened?

Sorry that ones my bad. Gasquet played Roger really well in 2006 but Roger won.

He lost to Murray in 2010, to Tsonga the year prior etc. so not that a record in Canada. My belief is that after he comes off a big victory like Wimby, he's had a little trouble in Canada.

Dont know why he skipped Miami, he couldve made up a lot of points there, he might have skipped Rome instead.

yes, I agree with this. A) he has a better chance bagging the tourney in competition of clay specialist that could beat him at Rome, and B) they are worth the same amount of points. I think he's just going for it for the prestige of the tourney.

Fed will probably add to his schedule as the year goes on, especially if he doesn't do as well as he hopes he will in certain tourneys. Anyway, I am glad that we will have another year of Roger on the tour. He is a special player.

I'm glad he gave Miami the boot. They need to change that sorry excuse for a HC for SMC to warrant an appearance.

As far as I know, he hasn't cared to win the DC lately, if at all. It's not as if he could do it alone anyway. I like the schedule. I think he'll play Canada and Cincy since I don't see him winning Wimby again

Hope so. I just would want him to finish on a good run.

Don't see Federer ending the year in the top two again with this scedule. He will end 2013 at #4, I think.

Unfortunately Fed lost to Isner in straights on clay and blew Switzerland's chances. If Stepanek and Berdych can manage the Davis cup, Fed and Wawrinka have no excuses. Then again it's very tough to win the Davis cup while also winning major tournaments, it takes something special! Maybe Fed should ask the Davis Cup player of the era, Rafa, how it's done. :)

So, if Roger is finishing 4, and Murray and Rafa are finishing outside the top 4 - who are in positions 1-3?

You shouldn't confront trolls with statements they made in different topics, that's cruel. ;)

Anyway, I expect Roger to be somewhere between 3-5 in 12 months.

Indeed. Why some people think DC in anyway adds or detracts from a singles player's CV is utterly beyond me, given that it is a team event where success and failure is completely outside the control of an individual team member. It is as relevant as pointing out that Roger has never flown unaided or visited another Galaxy.

thats until someone posts a photoshopped pic of federer as captain kirk on the bridge of the u.s.s. enterprise in star trek..

then it will be..oh look, federer has clearly visited another galaxy..here is the evidence.
