SF Bay Area tennis players

Last week, Golden Gate tennis club leased out only free courts they have among 20 tennis courts to Proshop. That tennis club belong to public and it is supposed to be used by public not just one entity.
I don't mind city public tennis courts are leased out for city revenue but they
shouldn't lease out only tennis courts with practicing wall in the area. There are only 2 or 3 tennis courts with practicing wall right next to tennis courts in entire San Francsico city.
Those 2 free courts were used by many tennis players who want to practice against wall and meet other tennis players, and play tennis right there. Even tennis players from East bay and South bay come to this specific court to practice against wall and meet other tennis players and to play tennis.
We need your support to reverse their decision. Golden Gate tennis club is public courts and they can lease out other 18 tennis courts in the club if they need.

Please send email to San Francisco supervisors even if you don't live in San Francisco and support us.
Here is SF supervisor website link and you will find all our supervisor. You just click their name and you can find "contact" button.

Thank you

They are leasing out public courts? In the People's Republic of SF? Where are the proletarians supposed to play this bourgeoise game? :)

Is the private company renting out the public courts?

I live in a town that has a fairly nice public facility and they charge residents about $5/hour for court time. That seems to be about the norm.

Keep your eyes peeled for other walls that might serve your purpose.

SF city owns the tennic courts. They charge $4, $5, $6, $10 for court time for 16 courts. But there were 2 courts with practicing wall for everyone to use for free with seperate fence. Now that was leased out. The point is the court with practicing wall was leased out. They can lease out other courts but not that one. Because that is only courts with practicing wall in the area. The city already leased out 2 other courts to teaching pros. So now total 4 courts out of 20 were leased out and the recently leased out 2 courts with practicing wall are always empty. Teaching pros use the other 2 courts they leased out previously.

They probably need the extra funds to cover the gender re-assignment surgeries of city employees. :)

Since the courts were built with public funds, they should remain public.
It is not like taxes in SF aren't sky high already.

Good luck with your own personal version of the Great Wall.

MofT......
I imagine you're talking about the last 3 courts out in hinterland, 21,22, and with no net, 23....
Those were the free courts most players chose to play on late evenings.
Do you know VascoMyers, BobWang (from LincolnHigh), JonGagnon?

Right, exactly.
I don't know the people you mentioned. I know mr. Wang a little. But I don't know his first name. Mr.Wang I know is about in his 80s ( I am guessing).

Thanks, MofT....
I head those guys play there late PM, pickup doubles, around 4.0 level.
BobWang is 63 like me, graduated in '66 from Lincoln, my homeroom actually, but I never really talked to him, as I was into sports and he into academics.
