SF matches scheduling...

Serve is much MORE effective at night. Any infinitesimal change in velocity is insignificant compared to the dramatic reduction in light at night, daylight being MANY times brighter than even the best artificial light, so returning serve is that much more difficult under the lights at night.
Don't think you are right... I read many times servers complaining how they couldn't serve through opponent in colder night conditions, opposite to hot daylight conditions...

I'm very interested if you can remember any example because I have difficulties to believe that, especially considering slams.
If you examine 2021 Rome master-1000, check Novak and Nadal’s playing schedule from beginning to the end. Novak wad screwed if I recall.

In the first 2 (or 3?) rounds, Novak started ahead of Nadal (notice they both playing on show court). For no reason they flipped the order in quarter-final I believe aka Nadal played 1st and finished the match on schedule (Friday?), Novak couldn’t complete his match due to rain causing him to play 2 matches (1.5 matches) on Sat. Then on Sunday Novak lost to Nadal in 3rd set.

Nadal played Thursday early and finished early; Djokovic played Thursday late and competed late. There is absolutely no reason to flip the playing order next day (Friday) but they did just that. Plus when they released Friday playing schedule Thursday evening, they very well knew rain forecasted for late Friday so whoever playing late on Friday likely would be screwed. But things like this did happen.

I know this is not a GS, but this is indeed an example.

What are you talking about?

1) Isner expressed more than once that he prefers to play day session (over night session) because his serve travels through (hotter) air slightly faster and “livelier”.

2) AO 3 years ago, Raonic took out WTF champ CCPass in straight sets, then took out Cilic easily which prompted Cilic claiming Milos is going to win that AO title (with Novak up next against the Canadian). After Raonic’s loss to Novak (yet again), he mentioned one little detail: when Milos saw the schedule that he had to play Novak in night session, his heart sank ‘cause he knew right there his serve wouldn’t be as effective as day session <— this is pretty much Raonic’s own words.

3) If you listen to ATP radio today, two commentators (generally former players) mentioned “dead balls” in night session - talking about this would be EmmaR’s 1st night match at Ash stadium.

In short, what you said is wrong.

Hope Novak - Zverev match will be scheduled at 7PM, which is logical, as better players are involved, and Med and AAF had more time to rest...
There was always precisely zero chance that Novak wasn’t getting night. The ticket market priced it as a given the moment tickets went on sale. In fact, for the pre-sale as well. I didn’t shell out Friday night prices to see FAA and Danny Boy. And neither did anyone else.

What's the prices for semis, first and second? If you know...

I think it was fairly obvious it’d be at 7 PM.
1. More appealing
2. The top half played the day after the bottom half so they get more time to rest

Lets be honest...

Djokovic v Zverev IS The main event of this USO....this was the match that everyone was looking at from before the draw started, to see exactly where Zverev falls in the draw and when they play each other.

Djokovic haters are a ridiculous lot. He played the only night QF. His match ended at 11 PM on Wednesday, so he got back to his NJ mansion well after midnight. And he should play the early SF?
